We are a thirty-something couple from Los Angeles, California.
We spent four nights at Casas Brancas after two weeks of traveling through Argentina and Brazil. The pousada was a very relaxing and serine place to recoup.
We did have a problem with hot water (Room 24). Management was apologetic once we reported the problem, but was unable to fix it. We were given free services at the spa, but hot water would have been nice.
Despite the sometimes cool showers, we had a great time here and would stay there again, just in a different room.
In August, the weather is warm enough for the beach or pool, but at night it gets windy. Despite the fact that it was "off season" we had no trouble finding delicious restaurants plus the beaches and streets were less crowded. If you want a night seen (dancing and crowded bars) wait until December or January to go.
The location is perfect, near enough to the beach (fifteen minute walk) and very close to downtown (five minute walk) with shopping and restaurants. The breakfast on the patio was very good with lots of fresh fruits, eggs, bacon, cereal, breads, juices, cafe con leche and more. We also ate by the pool and the food was excellent.
I would recommend this hotel, but ask not to be placed in Room 24 or 22, which apparently have issues with their water pumps.
