“If you don't speak Portuguese reconsider this long, expensive trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

This is revered~ and reviewed as a place for the stars and elite~well I say to them enjoy it~ I'll find somewhere else to visit. The downtown area is very pretty, very repetitious and pricey. Nothing opens until around10:00am. If your and early riser this is not the place for you. If you like to shop and spend money, or just plain drink you may enjoy it, BUT~beware, NO ONE speaks or understands English that I encountered after 8 weeks, thankfully I do speak Brazilian Portuguese, that helped. I found this to be the most frustrating, also NO ONE knows much of where to find things. Another turn off is that they have no septic systems AT ALL and every trip to the bathroom one has to put your waste paper in a basket even the most expensive hotels and properties...never in the toilet. You must always purchase water and the wafting smell of sewerage doesn't help one's appetite. Save your money and your time~stay in Rio for a week or two and visit the sites and beaches !

“Fun street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Lots of action, places to eat, drink and meet others. Centralized, better for nightlife and a good base from which to explore Buzios

the town is quite cute but at the end of the day is just a street of overpriced beachwear boutiques.

It is the very center of the small village. Full of shops( that closes just at midnight), restaurants and bars, is a pedestriam street where everything happens!
