“Ticked all the boxes - Atmosphere, quality, location & price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

This restaurant has a perfect position. Nestled in the corner of the bay it is the perfect place to watch the fishing boats ply their trade over a lazy lunch or watch the sunset while enjoying a lovely evening meal. All the food is fresh, where possible locally sourced and skillfully prepared. The welcome and the atmosphere is just right. Both owners have a really comfortable interaction with their clients. Frances will lovingly describe the dishes for you while choosing your meal. The beef was some of the most tender we have tasted, Mahi Mahi was lovely and the pate was really good – we daren’t mention the Chocolate Mousse :o)

“Best in Buzios - A Must Go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

The food delicious. I had the beef which was amazing and my wife had the swordfish which she said was the best she ever tasted. Place this restaurant in a bigger city and you would not even be able to get in.

Great atmosphere right on the water and the friendly service made this a great experience.

“Excellent value, lovely position, inspiring owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

We recommend L'Escale for lunch or evening. The position of the restaurant is great, including at sunset, the service personal and engaged, the food fresh and prepared with love and care. It has a lovely atmosphere, overlooks the sea, is exactly the right size, small and intimate but large enough to have privacy. An individual restaurant with character, not in the least because of the owners whose heart and soul are into providing the customer with a good experience.

“Great food, reasonable priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

We went there for Christmas eve dinner. There was a special menu at a reasonable price for the area (Buzios can be quite expensive). We ate well, were well attanded and had a nice view from the terrace. All in all, recommended.
We have also been there previously for a simple crepe/galette and had a similar experience. The location is a little walk away from the main shopping of Buzios, but for those who do want to take the walk it is worth it.

“Pretty Ordinary”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2012 via mobile

Based on TA reviews alone, went to L'Escale for dinner. We ordered their shrimp entree and crepe dessert. The shrimp dish was served with a thick sauce, white rice and broccoli. Not bad but definitely nothing to write home about,in fact worse than the other two dinner meals we had in Buzios.
