This hotel is very quiet surrounded by a tropical vegetation. It is near the centre of buzios, just 10 minutes walking. The room was very confortable with excellent views. The staff was excellent. I would highly recommend it.

We stayed here for 5 nights in November. We were looking for a comfortable, quiet and relaxing break and Porto Bay was ideal. The apartment we had was spacious, comfortable and well equipped, with a beautiful view. Staff and service were excellent and breakfast by the pool each morning was a great way to start the day. Easy walk to the town where there are abundant bars and restaurants and very laid back vibe. We loved it!

Stayed here two days after staying a couple of days at another property in Buzios. This one was excellent. Great rooms, beautiful views. An easy walk into town. The layout was great. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone.

Stayed in this charming hotel for 10 days in November. We had the basic room which was well equipped and modern but lacking any decor (pictures on wall) to make it more homely. They provided a kettle but no tea/coffee facilities so we had to buy some mugs etc. The reception rooms upstairs are lovely and airy with great views of the bay/ town which is ten minutes stroll away. Uphill on the way back and lots of steps so not for the disabled. Pool area and gardens were lovely. The breakfast was served in this area so it was lovely (breakfast a bit limited and after 10 days a bit boring). Staff in Reception were lovely. However, there is only a very basic meal service between 1.30 and 8.00 pm and on the one day we stayed and had lunch by the pool it took 50 minutes to arrive! Basically this is a nice Bed and Breakfast in my opinion.. Good beaches nearby especially Praia Brava which is 10 minutes walk and has a pretty beach and trendy restaurants.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and go for first floor rooms with a view to the sea. Lower rooms have only garden...

The service was excellent! Friendly receptionist and very helpful. The room was large and had a great view. The breakfast was nice and served by the pool made it charming. Room service was fast and the food we had for dinner was well served and plenty. I would go certainly back to stay in the hotel next time I visit Buzios.

This hotel for me fell short of the mark and what was expected. The staff were lovely, the breakfast good with fresh juices and continental buffet but the lack of any bar or restaurant services is in my opinion it's major flaw. We stayed at the pool one day and there is no drinks service available while enjoying a day in the sun. When we phoned reception from the kitchens phone, it seemed we were begrudgingly allowed some colas and water.
The room was very dark in the evening due to lack of ceiling lighting, the shower pressure hit and miss - one day lovely strong warm shower and next day trickle of cold water at the same setting of the day before. The bed however was a lovely sleep. At the end of the day, you pay what you get. We had looked at some of the beach front boutique hotels with higher costs and smaller rooms, but decided we wanted to spaciousness of the rooms on offer at the Porto Bay. Wifi was free. There is a small open air gym and sauna in the gardens. Lots of steps and stairs throughout the complex though, so not suited for those with disabilities.
The location is a 10minute walk to the main shopping and restaurant street and a R18 taxi fee home. Water taxis to local beaches are easily available and enough beach choices with beach bars/restaurants.
A four star establishment with one point deducted for it's lack of pool/drinks service.

Room Tip: Lower room balconies views are hindered by vegetation.

What a great place to stay. Centrally located all the main areas are within easy walking distance yet you escape the noise of all the main drags. Fabulous views, especially from the lobby and a great poolside breakfast in the mornings. The rooms are large with free Wifi and there are a gym and sauna in the gardens. Special thanks to the staff who could not make you feel more welcome!
