My friend and I were backpacking around south america and decided to treat ouselves to a luxurious hotel whilst we visited Iguazu Falls.
This hotel is conviently located only 5 minutes from the Argentine/Brasilian border where you can catch a taxi or a bus to the hotel.
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who spoke excellent English, Spanish and obviously Portugeuse and shown to our room.
Our room was stunning, two nice big double beds, a marble bathroom with powerful shower and excellent views over the grounds. Room was fitted with all the mood cons and a well stocked Mini bar that was not too pricey considering this is a five star hotel.
Onto the food, now where do i start? I'm a vegetarian and its not the easiest at times to find adequate food, but this hotel came up trumps. It has a number of restuarants and a piano bar, but the main restaurant serves a lavish buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The maitre de, as i explianed my food problem only charged me half price - so in total it cost me and my friend just over £20.00 for two 3 course meals, 2 bottles of water and a nice bottle of Brasilian White Wine. The food is cooked by one of Brasil's top chefs and was delicious!
The hotel is situated in a vast green landscape, and has 5 pools that are filled from water from the natural spa situated under the hotel grounds - i believe this is one of a kind in Brasil? The water was around 38degrees C at all times of day and the hotel allows guests to swim whenever - its rather nice having a swim at 10:30pm! All towels are provided for pool use.
There is also a useful games room with air hockey table, pool, table tennis and video games, and they operate childrens clubs and nusery for those of you with children.
I would definately recommend staying at this hotel; the only downside is that they do not have a currency exchange facility or a cash point and you have to make your way into town (a short bus ride away)
