“Good, but more 4 Star than 5 Star”

Mabu Thermas And Resorts

Agree with comments of the other reviewer - hotel is about 4 star, probably deserved 5 stars ten or more years ago.

Expensive at nearly US$270 a night.

Great position to get to the falls - including the Argentinian side which is a must. On the way back do stop at the Duty Free Shop. Booze is mega cheap.

Pools are great if a little dated and in need of upgrading.

Food is ok, interesting desserts. Papaya and Watermelon was some of the best we had in Brazil.

Two bars - one inside is ok, the other pool side bar is adequate.

Great hotel for famlies as plenty of staff support to take care of the kids and keep them amused whilst you have a break.

Rooms are a very good size, we had two double beds. Bathroom is ok - no bath, just the shower.

Take a travel iron, other than the Sheraton in Rio, all the other 5 star hotels we stayed at would not provide an iron. We did have a small suite at the Sheraton and was provided with an iron and ironing board which was great. Laundry services at any hotel is relatively expensive.

Staff at hotel are helpful and friendly even if they don't speak english, they will try or find someone who does.

Taxi is very safe and not expensive.

Brazilian BBQ is much the same as the Argentinian and not my idea of a BBQ. T bone is best, but all the meats treated with the same salty sauce, so it was much of a muchness. You can have much the same in London.

Good luck, falls are simply amazing, do take the boat trip up the river. Take a spare set of clothes.

MAKE SURE YOU GO AT A TIME WHEN THE WATER LEVELS ARE HIGH, otherwise you might be dissapointed.

This resort is fantastic for families, it features a mini cow, ranch, sports and a fab kids club. the thermal pools are a major attraction and it features a lovely hot tub. The resort is big you could get lost, the staff are fab really helpful and the spa is a must do. The treatments are fantastic really cheap too. The rooms are massive big enough for 2 ad and 2 children and they are interconnecting rooms too for bigger families. Room service is fab with plenty too choose from and very good value for money. the falls are just a short drive away and the resort is near the shops, bars and restaurants. I would recommend going bed and breakfast beacuse it's so ceap to eat out. the rooms overlook the pool area and surrounding gardens. The bar areas are very unique with antique features. I would stay here again

“Nice Resort...”

Enjoyed the resort. It is located about 20 minutes from the waterfalls/5 minutes from downtown Foz do Iguacu. Rooms are nice an comfortable. 5 star for Brazil, probably about 3 or four star in the US. Has a great hot springs pool for the kids...and a neat fishing pond in the back acres of the hotel - kids loved it. Had an all inclusive package (except for drinks - extra). The buffet food was plentiful and the desserts were of good quality. The breakfasts are great!!!Lots of tropical fruit, cheeses, etc.

Highlight of the whole trip - obviously the waterfalls! Nothing like it on earth!!!!!! Will never forget!!!
