“Really good resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012

I have selected Mabu to really enjoy with my family (me, wife, boy 8yo, girl 5yo) an environment of relax and same time keep children busy and happy. So Mabu for us it was perfect!
A lot of activities for children and teenager also where they keep them busy until late night. My children loved the activities. The staff to keep activities running all day long are perfect for this function, they were really selected to work there making atmosphere really superb because they like what they are doing.
The resort has a lot of things to do and all the installations are in good conditions. The resort area under very consereved green area making relax atmosphere by itself.
The food is very good. Buffet breakfast and meals included in the package. We could say good quality for food and drinks.
The swimming pool water is thermal water come from 1Km deep ground...around 37C.
The only cons is the price but I could say for a summer holidays is quite acceptable due busy season and quality of service done for us was perfect.
The location also is good: close to airport, close to the Iguassu falls (national park), close to Argentina border (nice to shopping and cassino). There is a local tour company at lobby with several packages for tour around city.

Most everything about this establishment is positive. The common areas are beautiful, the rooms sumptuous, the services offered are comprehensive. The three thermal pools are a treat to the eye, and in early morning are very enjoyable. Dining at the hotel was a rich, delightful experience. Why only a 3? The AC, despite repeated complaints, did not function. At all. Further, the place was overrun with pre-adolescent children, many of them ill-mannered, thuggish. The pools were overpopulated with these demons from noon to dusk, diminishing the use we had for them. Additionally, be aware that this place is pretty remote. Beyond the world renouned Foz do Iguacu, not much happening here. Overall, a beautiful place, with issues.

Room Tip: Test the AC before you agree to accept the room.

We stayed in this resort as part of our tour in Argentina including Iguassu Falls. Everyone on our tour thought this hotel was great, mainly because of the beautiful grounds, thermal pools with slides, music and a very festive atmosphere. The rooms were adequate. The breakfast and dinner buffets were also very good with lots of choices. The only complaint is that the safes are antiquated and you have to pay to get a key from the front desk.

I stayed in Mabu because a convention.

This Hotel is 15 y old and they are now build more units and promising to rebuild the old area.

They are located very close to Argentina border, the Falls and the airport.

The Hotel is complete, has a bar, a spa and a nice swimming poll.
The food is also OK. It is not cheap, but is OK. Feijoada Buffet on Saturday is the highlight.

It will not be a problem to return to Mabu Hotel, but he impression for me is that some atmosphere is laking there.

I can also say, Foz do Iguaçu is really expensive.

I stayed in the Mabu thermas & resort Foz do Iguaçu hotel 4 years ago and completely forgot to post a review! so here i go : overall, i was very very satisfied with this hotel. It was very clean, very big, the rooms were worthy of the stars. The buffet was AWESOME!! the gardens and the pool very neat and nice, very brazilian jungle.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit the iguaçu falls that are not far - the hotel will accommodate tourists in a friendly way and organize tours to the falls.

we have just arrived from unforgettable Iguazú; never thoght it was that wonderful!
The hotel is huge, and if it was the national day for brazilians was pretty crowded but the service was excellent! The rooms are on the normal side and so does the restaurant and lobby; but the surroundings, gardens, small lake, pools, etc were excellent, spotless.
It is true that th hotel is close to nothing, but if you spend the whole day at the Falls, you come to this oasis and relax on the 36°C pools. Breakfast is very good, everything is fine!

Spent two nights in Foz between stays in Rio & Buenos Aires. Would have enjoyed it more except for torrential rain. The hotel is quite remote from the town of Foz but wasn't particulalry impressed with Foz when we visited anyway. The famous thermal pools are enjoyable, if a bit shallow and children-oriented. There are computer and table games nearby and casual poolside dining. The hotel is massive and had low occupancy when we were there so the dining room and bar lacked atmosphere at times. Entertainment was provided one night and was enjoyable. There are handy internet terminals in the reception area for the few remaining folks who don't have smartphones. I liked the room but it could have done with a little airing before we arrived. Staff were very good.
Re Iguazu Falls, I much preferred the Argentine side. The hotel can organize tours. DIdn't take the Friendship bridge across to Paraguay, hear some dodgy stories about tourist scams etc
