There are some really nice and some other not so nice things about this hotel.
Let’s start with the good ones: a- excellent breakfast with plenty of good options to choose from (this applies to dinner too); b- ample rooms to make you feel comfortable; c- some TV channels with subtitles instead of dubbed in Portuguese; d- good location for business; e- staff are friendly and do their best to understand and speak in English (no Spanish though); e- safe (although small, a laptop cannot fit into it) and mini bar in room.
Now, the not so good: a- location is noisy at night, specially if your room looks at the main street, try to ask for a room on the tower in the back part of the building, right behind the restaurant; b- also be careful and try to avoid walking alone at night, the area is not terribly unsafe but I have received warnings from locals and have heard some really strange screams at night from the street; c- rooms need to be freshened up, the door of my bathroom was breaking apart and the bath tub was old; d- there is no swimming pool; e- air conditioning does not seem to be very easy to manage, probably it is old equipment.
Next time I will try the Deville Rayon, which seems more modern and has a swimming pool. It is one block away. Anyway, Deville Curitiba is a good option among the alternatives.
