The water rafting in Menominee was about 45 mins of talking in still water, and 5 secs on the drop. The other rafting site in prestigo river was full of rocks. The instructor gives you instructions on what not to do if you get stuck on a rock. He said it usually happens, but not much. The entire time we were in the river we were stuck, climbing out of the raft to dislodge ourselves from the rock, and fighting off horseflies. My boys were joking about our vacation on the way back home, but in all honesty, thats all it is. A big joke.
We bought into the all inclusive family package which included a lunch and dinner at there award winning restaurant. What don't tell you is that it is not an open menu. They will give you a printed menu at the bar they put together. For lunch you get either a hamburger, cheeseburger, or a grill cheese. My oldest wanted the grill cheese, and the bartender/cook/waiter said he did not have the bread for the grill cheese. Hello!!!! If you have bread for the burgers, then you have bread to make the grill cheese. We are from Chicago, we know how to survive. At dinner you have 3 options, BBQ Chicken, or BBQ Ribs, or half of both. The food was overcooked, and taste terrible. You also have to sit at the Bar with your family because they cannot leave the bar area, and it makes it convenient for him to serve you. I did not like the idea of my boys eating lunch and dinner at the bar with everyone around us smoking like chimneys, and drinking alchohol. They do not carry the same Law as in Illinois regarding the smoking ban. The paint balling and the kayaking was ok, and the tower was cool.

It is unfortunate this guest had a bad experience at the Wildman Ranch. We strive to respond to our guests needs as best we can. When given the opportunity we correct any proplems people may have with their experience at the Wildman Ranch.
When it comes to rafting rivers in the Midwest your choices are limited. We offer our customers both the biggest and longest sections of whitewater in a five state area. On the Menominee River, the Pier's Gorge section of whitewater may be short but it is also the biggest around offering class IV rapids. The flat water paddle that is required to get to that section is enjoyed by many of our guests. Our standard trip runs through the rapids two times. We also offer the "Wild Ride" which challenges guests by running the Gorge three times in a smaller boat with less people. You won't find a more intense anywhere in the Midwest. Our Peshtigo River trip runs on the Roaring Rapids section of the Peshtigo. This section of the Peshtigo is the longest continuous section of whitewater in the Midwest. Being rain fed this river goes from being a class III and IV river in the Spring to a class II and III river in the late summer. The early Spring trips on the Peshtigo are every bit as exciting as most any river you will run. Late in the summer months our guests are challenged with reading the currents in the river. This is not easy but many people enjoy the challenge.
Our guides provide people with the information they will need in order to get down the river safely and as efficiently as possible. Sometimes that requires telling people what not to do as many people will instinctively do things that are dangerous and counter productive.
Once again, we here at the Wildman Ranch do everything we can to provide people with the best outdoor adventure they can possibly have in a few short days. We strive to continuously improve our operation with our guests best interests in mind.

This lodge is located on Menominee River in upper Wisconsin. The lodge offers everything for the outdoor enthusiast. The raft trips are memorable and the horseback riding was fun. The lodge has 2 locations. This location in Niagara has only 2 cabins that are new park model mobile home units. They are roomy and sleep up to 6 people. The kids loved golfing and fishing on the river. Nice get away only 4-5 hours away from Chicago area.
