This was my 2nd time staying at a B&B, the experience was awesome! I stayed 2 nights in the Northern Lights Loft with 4 other girls, there was plenty of room for all of us & all of our stuff. Kelly was great & her breakfasts were phenomenal. The rustic atmosphere was so inviting & super clean. This B&B comes highly recommened from me & the other 4 girls I stayed with. We are already planning to make this an annual trip because we enjoyed it so much!

Room Tip: If you have any questions about where or what, just ask Kelly or Mark. They responded to my emails s...

On September 16/11 my wife & I set out on a two week adventure that took us through Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario & Manitoba.
Our first stay was at Second Wind Country Inn B&B.
Kelly & Mark run a fablous establishment in Ashland, there love of life and nature are very strong attributes they should be very proud of.
At the breakfast table it was great to here about there family of five and share are own son's stories.
The variety of breakfasts over three days was superb and we look forward to what Kelly was going to prepare the next day.
Also they very helpful with advice to a couple that has strong dreams of opening there own B&B in Eastern Ontario.
Our room the Bears Den was beautiful and comfortable, and waking to the sounds of nature was a treat.
I recall one morning lying in bed and hearing a odd sound, I replied to my wife Lorraine what was that and she said that was the donkeys.
It was refreshing compared to the sounds of the city of Toronto and this is what holidays are all about.
There is no doubt that in future travels I would stay at Second Wind.
Thank you Kelly & Mark.

We wanted a nice quiet place we could visit Ashland from but not be in the business district. We got more than we ever dreamed of with the mini-petting farm of real live creatures in their happy farm habitat, as well as a modern atmosphere to use our computer, watch Netflix, play cds and read while in the Jacuzzi. We could not have had a better time! The breakfasts were so above and beyond our expectations or even the best restaurant and the hostess really met our diet requirements in the yummiest way. What a value! We especially enjoyed sitting in the swing on the front porch as it rained. And the gift shop in the Gathering Room was so tempting I had to shop---and buy. We plan to return for Cross Country Skiing but we wish we could see it right now, as the trees are changing so well this year!

We bought a gift certificate for Second Wind for an anniversary getaway. We decided to change plans and bring our family along. We stayed in the Loft which was extremely spacious and included more than enough room for the 7 of us. The property is set upon a hill and you can see down the valley to Lake Superior. The large windows present a breathtaking view. Our grandchildren enjoyed all the animals including cows, horses, goats, donkeys, a dog and a couple of cats. All were very friendly and approachable. We enjoyed a peaceful, TV-free evening, playing the variety of board games they had to offer. Our breakfast was very tasty too and included oven pancakes, bacon, fresh fruit, a fruit smoothy and a specially roasted coffee. Kelly and Mark were very gracious hosts and we enjoyed meeting their family and thoroughly enjoyed out time at Second Wind. Another note, they offer free wireless internet.

I was introduced to Second Wind Bed and Breakfast in Ashland by my sister when we came to stage her book signing. The location is incredible; beautiful peak at Lake Superior through the trees and hills, lovely private retreat with friendly family pets and livestock (You've got to meet them all). The host and hostess make you feel like part of the family and the breakfast is fabulous. If you have a special dietary need, Kelly will rise to the challenge and make you a fantastic treat. The scones with raspberry and lemon curd....oh my...I can't wait to taste them again. The rooms are log cabin themed but not what I would call "rustic". There is nothing but comfort and elegance in the suites. We stayed in the loft suite and it has a fantastic view, lots of room and was quiet and cozy. We were supposed to stay the next night in Duluth, but opted to drive back and finish our stay at Second Wind. It was exactly what we needed. I can't wait to get back with my husband to enjoy another stay and introduce him to a Bed and Breakfast that fits his Northwoods flair.

The Second Wind Country Inn Bed & Breakfast in Ashland, Wisconsin overlooks a beautiful bay on Lake Superior, but no detail is overlooked in this inspiring and heartwarming place for guests to nestle into the charm of a northwoods inn. The view, the comfort, the amenities, the (Oh, I can taste them now!) breakfasts, the atmosphere, and the exceptional host and hostess draw me back to this refreshing getaway spot. With a unique blend of country quiet, unassuming luxury, a natural setting with four-seasons beauty and wildlife, nearby tourist destinations like Bayfield, the Apostle Islands, Duluth-Superior, historically-rich Ashland, the lakeshore, and intriguing local restaurants, Second Wind is positioned to offer its guests a memorable and soul-stirring experience that will leave them asking, "How soon can we come back?"

Mark and Kelly are amazing! They make you feel at home away from home. Their place is so relaxing, and the breakfast is amazing. This is truly a place everyone should check out if you are headed to northern Wisconsin! I could not rave enough about their hospitality and their amazing bed and breakfast.
