“Good value, convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I stayed at Ianelli on a recent business trip to Belo. The room was vey clean, staff very helpful and good support in English. Also, great location to our office and lots of good restaurants. The only room for improvement would be additional bedding and boy was the bed hard! But overall great value for the price.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 weeks in June 2012 and found it to be a good, clean, safe and a nicely maintained hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly too though very few of them spoke or barely understood English (can't complain - It's Brazil!). The biggest plus point is that it is within walking distance of Patio Savassi and scores of very good restaurants plus host of spots to hang around. Quite close to Mercado Central, Liberdade Square, etc. too.

Room Tip: Take a room on upper floors facing the road.

The hotel is modern and well-maintained and very well-placed in the vibrant area of Savassi. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is good although the wireless internet connection can be erratic. The spacious apartment suites are great for a longer stay and not too expensive. Some rooms can be noisy when the traffic is heavy or, especially, when the locals are watching the football in the nearby bars. The breakfast buffet is varied, plentiful and good. There is no restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance.

My check in was easy and the front desk staff was very friendly. They gave me tips on where to go, places to shop, places to go and places to avoid (I felt more secure in Rio de Janeiro than Belo Horizonte).
Do not go by the pictures on their website. Those are from the opening day (I will never get used to see holes on the carpet and dented furniture in hotel rooms). I asked for a toilet seat cover to be changed (it was peeling and had something that looked like mildew on it. It took two complaints, one threat of calling the Management and 24 hours for them to change it.
Housekeeping is slow and they do not keep attention to details like vacuuming and cleaning glass tables on weekends.
The hotel has a nice pool and a restaurant on the same floor. The best part of it is that you probably will have it for yourself. The hotel caters for business travelers and you rarely will see them, except on breakfast area (which is complimentary).
The hotel is very well located on the Savassi neighborhood, close to two shopping centers and good restaurants. Try Cia do Boi and Casa dos Contos. Great experience on both places.
I'll definitely come back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor and on the back of the hotel. There are bars and restaurants in the f...

I stayed there for one night only. I checked in on saturday and checked out on sunday, and didn't use anything but the room itself and the restaurant for breakfast.Under this circumstances, the hotel is great. Breakfast is good. The rooms have a good size, a big mirror, very good bathroom (another big mirror, hair dryer, clear, hot water), a cozy sofa, balcony (although there isn't a great landscape to be seen), a dining room, cable TV, a stereo and a iPod and MP3 dockstation. Room service is quick and efficient. It is good to rest as it's not possible to hear the other room's noise. Lifts are new. Location is very convenient if you intend to eat and walk nearby. Hotel's street is quite calm, although you may hear some people talking loud at the cafes. In a 5-minute walk you'll find a very nice mall where you can eat and have an ice icream, a big drugstore and different kinds of stores. In a 15-minute walk you get to the Praça da Liberdade, a square where you can sit and rest under the trees, jog, ride a bicycle and see the Governor's house. Will surely stay there again.

Recomendado!

Room Tip: Don't forget to specify if it's a smoker or non-smoker room. ------ Informar na reserva se...
