“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a comfortable and well-located hotel (Savassi is one if the best districts in Belo Hprizonte), with an excellent restaurant (Amadeus) and great wine cellar.
The only disadvantages are the small bathrooms in the rooms and the fact that not all employees speak English.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

I arrived at 2am in the morning, staff was helpful and my room was ready. Modern decor and for American travels it can be small however is it a boutique hotel and compared to some of the 5 stars in the US, it will be up to those standards. The restaurant in the hotel has been voted one of the best Hotel restaurants in the city although a buffet style the selection is excellent and it also have a menu in case you do not want the buffet. The wine selection is great with their on cellar with an extensive selection from wines around the world. It seems to be the in place for locals. The hotel is located in an upper scale area within walking distance to museums and parks. If you like shopping, 5 blocks from hotel there are several malls and outdoors great stores. What impressed me the most was the complimentary "hot tea" service to your room. It felt special and unexpected. This is between 9 and 10 pm and they bring a selction of teas on a car for you to select. Very safe, energy savings features in the room. I was on a convention and got to visit the other near by hotels and this is the hotel to stay. Also have taxis parked in front of the hotel 24 hours. The airport connecion bus station is only 5 minutes from hotel. The staff was freindly and very helpful. I will definetly stay there again and recommend the experience.

Room Tip: Corner suites are quieter.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for your kind review. It was a pleasure to read that you enjoyed both our architecture and facilities. Out staff was also very pleased to hear that we were able to provide our authentic hospitality that we are so well known for. I would like to share with you that our fitness centre have undergone a complete renovation recently, with the installation of the latest equipment, to ensure guests have access to the very best facilities. On your next visit, I would like to recommend that you try our famous caipirinhas, served by the Amadeus Restaurant for a relaxing afternoon. It will be a pleasure to welcome you again on your next visit to the city.

I have previously stayed at this hotel, and found it good.
But I was surprised this time, by the big change in hospitality.
The reception staff refused to understand English. Had to get a friend help me.
The breakfast was not upto the mark at all.
I hope they haven't changed management.

very nice hotel in the heart of BH.
Rooms are very nice, with LED TV (all rooms equipped by end of January).
Only problem is the bathroom, that I found too small (claustrophobic in some case).
Breakfast is nice- plenty of variety of cakes and fruits- maybe missing some option for bread.
Restaurant is very good also, with a very interesting buffet at noon.
great winery and great wine list!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

Being familiar with Belo Horizonte and its chaotic traffic, this time I chose the Royal Savassi both for the "boutique" classification and, above all, for the description of their "sound-proof" rooms. Much to my disappointment I discovered that the rooms were all but sound-proofed: windows with single glasses and marble floor (without carpets) that amplify any chair or of human movement in the floor above your head. The noise of the A/C compressors was so unbearable that, the first night, I had to move to another room at 1:30AM. Not even in a kindergarten have I seen a sink as small as the one in the bathroom. The laundry service is, so say the least, bizarre: a pair of dress trouser were ironed flat as if they were jeans, and when I returned them to be pressed with the crease in the front, I was charged again for the full service -- which it took quite a bit of a discussion to be removed from my final bill. In my opinion the only positive thing about the hotel is the restaurant, but not for the breakfast they serve (which is really poor), but for the most extraordinary cellar in town...... which might turn useful should one want to accept the hotel!
