We recently did a 4 day tour with Julinho looking for jaguars and other wildlife in the north Pantanal. All we can say is wow. Julinho was waiting at the airport in Cuiaba to meet us and we immediately set off. We drove 2hrs the first day to the Pousada Rio Claro. On the way we saw tons of caymans, capybaras, birds, and deer right on the side of the road. The lodgings were clean and the food was good. We set off early the next morning for Hotel Porto Jofre 4 hrs away. Again, tons of animals were spotted right from the car. After a quick lunch at the hotel we headed out on the rivers on Julioho's boat. The next day and a half was spent spotting jaguars (4!), river otters, and lots more beautiful birds, caymans, and capybaras. The most common thing we said over these few days was "how did he see that?!" Julinho is amazing at spotting animals that are very camouflaged. We also had a nice BBQ lunch with Julinho's friends at their home deep in the Pantanal. Lodgings at Porto Jofre were excellent; excellent food (and tons of it), spacious rooms, and nice staff. We were sad for this trip to end and would highly, highly recommend Pantanal Trackers and Julinho! It is obvious that he has a deep love for the land and the animals and is extremely respectful to the environment and the animals he's watching.
