“Ótimo para se relaxar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Um lugar para se relaxar, levar os filhos, pegar um sol, nadar com os peixes em água cristalina e almoçar um peixinho muito bom. Barato.

A place to relax, take your children, get some tan, swim with the fishes in crystal clear water and eat a very good fish. Cheap.

“Swim with fish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

The Balneario Municipal park is located a bit outside of Bonito (~ 6 km) and quite crowded on hot days. However, what really makes this place special in my opinion is the experience to swim in parts of a crystal clear river full of fish. This part of the river is obviously not in its completely natural state but well maintained and does not feel too artificial.
The park seems to be popular by Brazilians of all age and offers two different restaurants, snorkeling equipment for rent, lockers, washrooms and plenty of space to relax.
Definitely worth a visit.

“Crowded”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We went to Balneario Municipal in the afternoon we arrived Bonito. We didn’t book any attraction for this day, so this was our only option to visit something in the city. It is the cheapest attraction in Bonito: R$20 in January. The place was crowded; we could barely find a place to seat away the lots of people that were running to jump in the water. I don’t think this is the concept of ecotourism that Bonito is known about. It seems it is just another place they explore the money of the tourists, without the worries about limiting the number of visitors (as we can see in other places in Bonito). The only nice thing I thought about this place is that they sell food for the fishes, so you can feed them.

“Nice spot to hang out during the day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Good location. Nice clear water for swimming and viewing of fish. Bar service is good and efficient although a bit pricey. Lots of local people to talk to and ask questions of the area.

“Great swimming spot - especially for budget conscious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Considering all the alternative river spots around Bonito cost a lot between transport and entrance fees this is great value. We hired a bike for 10rs and entry was 15rs, the river was very clear and full of fish. Yes its small but considering you are in the middle of the continent and in an expensive tourist town this is a great place to cool off and relax, especially for those of us on tighter budgets.
