We were there during the World Cup. Location was safe. Hotel was outdated. It was clean. It was pricey and they don't give you wifi. You have to pay. They had a good lobby to watch the games. It is disorganized because you go to the bar to order drinks and all you have to do is give a room number and they will put on your tab. At the end I got over charged for drinks.
Mediocre hotel but I thought everything in Brazil sucked.

Room Tip: Safe Area, Mall across the street. Can walk to the stadium.

The carlton never heard of that. The 70s went by.. followed by 80s 90s and 14 years of the 21st century....

Nice if you like vintage everything... staff is nice. Auditorium is good.

The Carlton hotel still resides in a 70's time pocket. The staff are very friendly and attentive, they cannot be faulted. The decor is very dated and has no character, sitting in the bar having a few drinks with colleagues is something you would rather do somewhere else. WiFi is available at a price (I believe WiFi for paying guests should be free, particularly in a hotel used predominantly for business use). The rooms are small but adequate, there are no tea/coffee or ironing facilities (again...business use hotel) which I found quite irritating. The good news is that there is a shopping mall across the road with a well appointed food court, there are also some excellent restaurants within walking distance and a municipal park with running routes and fitness areas within a quarter of a mile. Would I stay here again? I would try and find somewhere else (although I got the impression that the Carlton reflected the general standard).

this hotel is shabby meanwhile. The floors and the wallpapers, the doors don't close properly.
It is quite clean, the breakfast and staff friendly. But the lookalike is not more than a 2 star hotel. The windows are not isolated, there was no quiet sleeping without earplugs.
There is much to do till the World Championship in 2014

The best days of this hotel are, like a lot of its neighbours, long ago. The room was quite clean but it always smells fusty. There is no wifi in the rooms, just in the lobby - the cable based internet in the room didn't work.
breakfast was okay, but nothing special. The gym is really small and the water of the swimming pool didn't looked healthy.
To be honest: I won't stay here again, when I'm in Brasilia.

that you are in Brasilia where hotels are either 50 yrs old or ridiculously expensive. The Carlton is somewhere in between. The installations are oldish, not too much so. I mean, things work - air conditioning, cabled internet, cable TV. The bathroom is decent. But don`t expect too much. Breakfast is, maybe, the high point with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, some local flavors of cakes and sweets, and the usual rest - bread, cheese, ham, bacon, scrambled eggs. The selection of diet stuff is limited. All in all not too bad for a business stay - you wouldn't be here for any other reason anyway.

The lobby does not look bad, but the hotel is very outdated.
Wifi only in the lobby, not the rooms (cable available, though).
Room decoration from the early seventies.
Did not have warm water for 2 days in my room, thanx gosh it´s Brazil and it was rather hot.
Buffet dinner extremely expensive at 45 R$ (26USD) and not something to write home about.
In a nutshell, you must be able to find better hotels.

Room Tip: higher floors get much less noise from the aircon.
