“Horrible room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

As other reviewers pointed out, many of the rooms on this property are old and in urgent need of renovation. The room I stayed on had stained carpets and sofa, very old kitchen appliances, an old CRT TV with extremely poor reception and a noisy air conditioning unit. Shower was electric (I didn't even know those still existed in large hotels), and didn't really heat the water properly. Rooms facing 'Esplanada' (the main city avenue) can be quite noisy as well, specially if there are any concerts on the avenue.

Breakfast was quite good and room - despite its appalling condition - was quite large, and had an excellent balcony.

The very only reason I picked this hotel, after going through its many bad reviews, was for its view. The view did not disappoint me - it was pretty much an unobstructed view of the city 'Plano Piloto' and its main sights (check out the picture on the review).

Unless you can book one of the renovated rooms, or if you like me are in for the view, look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Pick a renovated room or stay elsewhere!

Cordialmente,
Salete Soares - Gerente Comercial

Suites have a hall, with sofa, counter and a sink. Bedroom is very small and the bathroom is OK, in spite of the electric shower.
Decent breakfast and few amenities.
The view from the upper rooms is awesome, but it is very noisy.
Reasonable price.

Room Tip: Upper rooms have a better view of Esplanada

After reading many bad reviews about hotels in general in the city of Brasilia, I was quite apprehensive about it. So the hotel was quite a good suprise. The room was very big, always clean and renewed recently. The breakfast was also very good, in fact above average.
If I go back to Brasilia I'll stay in the same hotel for sure.

The only thing was it lacked wifi internet in the rooms, but they have internet by cable in every room, so it is not an issue.

Brasilia accommodation is all in big and expensive hotels so if you want/have to visit expect to pay top prices. We were upgraded from another Plaza hotel as there was a confusion with the booking and were happy to have landed in the Manhattan Plaza as it looks more comfortable.

Staff were friendly and a fair few had enough English to help us get by. Our request for a late checkout was granted.

Kids loved the pool which gets the most sun in the middle of the day.

Breakfast good sized buffet but tend to clear quickly at 10 when it is meant to close.

Cabs always available and a petrol station 50 yds away down the hill sells water, beer etc. if you don't fancy mini bar prices.

Hotel right opposite has a proper bank ATM.

You will get road noise in any Brasilia hotel as both Hotel Districts border the central main road but OK in room with window and heavy curtains shut.

Main thing that could be improved would be WiFi which is only available in Public Areas and seriously slow. A wired LAN connection in the room is no good for smartphones and even my new laptop only has WiFi. For a large business hotel that was not very full it should have a much faster and stable connection, we had a better one in our Ilha Grande beach house!

this hotel is a good option if you go to a convention in Brasilia, reasonable price, concierge attentive, modern and clean room but bath only with warma water (if you want hot forget this hotel) and hard mattress.good points: very quiet and clean rooms, very good breakfast included in rate .

This hotel is not the best one, but it´s very good if you want to expend little in this very expensive city. You can have cheaper rates searching for the visa promotion, 145 reais/day. It´s a very good price, speacially for the location, near 2 shoppings, the main attractions of the city can be reached walking, and you can get an executive bus (8 reais) from the airport right to the hotel area. It´s a good choice in the city but don´t expect a very good staff or absolutely clean towels, sofas and wall. don´t miss the guided (and free) tour at congresso nacional and the cute craft fair behind the tv tower.
