A very nice hotel, in a very good location.
Good bed, good shower, good breakfast and an interesting decoration with historical pictures of the ex-president's, Juscelino Kubitschek, life!
Very good staff too!

Brasilia hotels are tricky. Most are built on either side of the crossing of the main axes of the "bird" or "airplane" layout of the city, in the "hotel zone" and most date from the 60s and 70s when Brasilia was inaugurated. Many hotels thus look a bit dated, as does the Kubitschek.
BUT: the hotel is undergoing refurbishment so the rooms in lower floors are actually very nice, and have a modern look, as do the corridors leading up to those rooms. But the floors higher up are still oldish in style. Functional, but little more.
The fitness center is quite nice, and there is a small swimming pool (also being renovated when I was staying) - the town is clearly getting ready for the Soccer World Championships.
On the other hand, I felt the breakfast room as being substandard for a hotel that claims to be top-class. but then again...
If your top choice hotel is fully booked, the Kubitschek is a viable alternative.

Room Tip: get a room on the lower (renovated) floors

of course this may not work for most business visitors to Brasilia, but the weekend deal is just sweet, we had a good size room, recently remodeled with a good view, very good wifi and magnificent breakfast. Brazilians are the "French" of South America, if you expect them to speak English, good luck. It was 5 bucks for the Executive airport bus door to door and about 5 bucks for an average taxi ride to restaurants in the area. Being right on the Esplanade, you can certainly walk to most places. Brasilia is good for a couple of tourist days and
we would return to Kubitschek Plaza certainly on any weekend.

Room Tip: make sure you ask for one in the recently remodeled part of the hotel

Have arrived to Kubitscheck Plaza Hotel at night, nice entrance but incredibly NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH or SPANISH.
Went to my room and got shocked! Furniture was torn out, broke and dirty. No wifi at room. Just 2 towels and no coffee.
For a very expensive hotel (US$ 350 a night) it is amazing!
Brasil is a nice country, but they don't appreciate visitors from other countries, seems that ourism or international business is not important for them.
Have to came back to Brasilia (now for business) once a month, will not stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Look for other hotel, maybe you can get the same service for less money

We stayed as tourists- I suspect most guests are on business- overnighting en route to the Pantanal. Our room was large, recently refurbished so well decorated and furnished, with efficient quiet a/c. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linens, and the shower powerful. Cleanliness couldn't be faulted
We took the evening buffet as we couldn't be bothered to get a taxi anywhere ( no restaurants in the immediate area) and enjoyed it- good choice and reasonably priced at under £20. Breakfast too was good- although no decaf coffee.
All in all fine for a short stay

I booked the hotel the same day and the quality/price was excelllent. I had a little concern when entering the lobby since it looks a 60's hotels, so I was expecting old rooms. The surprise came when the room I was given was a complete new one and very modern. The stay was good. Internet was free with a maximum speed of 400kbps (speeds above needed extra payment).
The only thing I didn't like was the balcony closing, since it let the noise come in. Closures are still old.

Anyway, I do recomend it.

Make no mistake - go straight to the Melia Hotel. Everyone I talked to confirmed that this is the best place to stay in Brasilia. The Kubitzschek Plaza is definitely too expensive for the results delivered:

- Rooms are not entirely clean and especially the bathroom is in an awful condition. Standard of the late 1990s at best.
- The breakfast is acceptable but not at all international standard - especially concerning the personell. It takes literally hours until used plates are removed, hardly anybody speaks english or another international language; only portuguese.
- The airconditioning makes substantial noises. So does the outdated fridge in the room.
- The Cupboard worked only partially.
- The fitness center is below international standard with only one small towel per guest that has to be handed back after use.

Opposite the hotel, two big construction sites have just started and their are also working Saturdays in the early hours with substantial noise.

The only really positive aspects are the kind and knowledgable reception team and that it only takes 35 Real to get to the airport.
