The Tryp/Melia Brasilia was a very good hotel. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The sitting, bedroom and bathroom were very large. The hotel was modern and undergoing some samll scale changes as it had just changed hands. We asked for the Tryp hotel but the taxi drivers all knew it as the Melia chain. Could not fault the rooms there were large, clean, well furnished and it felt like a luxury hotel. The view were great over the TV tower. The rest of the hotel was souless, reception, resturant, coridoors were off white polished stone. The room had an electronic safe for no extra charge and expansive bar with kitchnet. The only downside was the location. Great for business but there were no resturant or cafes nearby. So snacks were taken at the nearby bus station or in the hotel resturant wihc had a very cheap buffet in the evening.
Good points.
Room - great size, good layout and well furnised. It felt classy.
Staff - English spoken with ease and very helpful
Electronic safe at no charge.
Good hotel chain ( we used three of their hotels).
Gym
Cheap evening buffet (not drink though)
General
Location good or bad depending why you are in town.
Bad
Souless business hotel
Tiny round pool
Expensive bar items
Reccomendation.
