i hate how people treat me there those young spainsh girl laugh at me all the time. I am never go back that hotel again. It is really dirty place.

The rooms wouldn't have been half bad if they had been clean. To me, cleanliness is the most important thing when staying at a hotel. There were hairs in the bathtub. A spider was smashed on the wall next to the bed. The carpet in the hallways looked like it hadn't been vaccumed for some time. When having coffee and a doughnut in the lobby, I saw another spider on the wall and cobwebs in the corner.

The place needs a good cleaning. Would not stay there again....no matter how reasonable the price is.

I stayed at the Microtel in Appleton (the motel is actually in Grande Chute, WI) because of its close proximity to Time-Warner Field (aka Fox Cities Stadium). I was in town for a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game. The Timber Rattlers are a minor league baseball team and are the Seattle Mariners "Class 'A'" affliate. And "Micro" really describes this place."

The rooms here are very small and could not accomodate 2 adults. The TV is mounted on a cabinet, which doubles as a closet. And I have no idea how the TV stays up there without falling off! It is also at an odd angle to the bed. The bathroom, while of decent size, has no hairdryer. But it does have the little shampoos and soaps. The pillows are skimpy too!

There is a workout room, but there are only three cardio machines in there--no wieghts. But the room is clean and the equipment well-maintained.

The Continental Breakfast is very skimpy too. Just some breads, bagels, English muffins, and mini-muffins. There is coffee and your choice of orange, apple, or cranberry juice. There are, however, no tables to eat your breakfast at--indeed there are only a couple of places to sit in the lobby. So, plan on eating breakfast standing up or in your room!

The Microtel is also used by visiting teams visiting the Timber Rattlers, so a room might be hard to get during baseball season.

Having said that, it isn't a bad place to stay. The rooms are very clean. And the front desk staff is friendly. There are a number of restaurants nearby. If you are travelling alone and plan on staying only one or two nights, then this is a good choice. If you are travelling with your spouse, etc. it is best to get one of the suites.

The motel is nothing extravagent, but it's close to highway 41 and many restaurants. Mini-muffins and coffee for breakfast in the lobby. Friendly staff, clean rooms, wi-fi.
