Fortaleza is centrally located to several beaches in northern Brasil. It has great hotels at affordable prices and many delightful resturants. We stayed at the Luzeiro Hotel for under $100 a night. It was easily a 4 star hotel with a full course breakfast buffet included. We were right on the beach and directly across from the nightly craft market. You can relax durring the day on the beach or take one of the many excrusions available (fishing, scuba, snorkle, catamarans, dune buggies, beach park, etc...). At night, the beach front comes alive with people and entertainment. A tip for those on a budget. The hotel laundry service is expensive. But there is a self-service laundry mat a block from the Luzeiro hotel with an internet 'cafe' next door. You can put your clothes in and then pop over and email all your friends about your wonderful experiences.

I came from a cruise and stayed at Fortaleza's Holliday inn for 4 days. The staff is very nice and the room is very big.

Its in front of Iracema's Beach. The location is the best, from it you can go anywhere without exprend a lot of money.

The hotel's location was one of the best, because we can see the sea and people at the street walking early everyday.
Our room was very large, but the bathroom could be better. We had two smaller beds instead one larger, I don't know why!
The hotel has a small but beautiful pool.
The visits we did were very interesting. Fortaleza doesn't have a good beach, so we moved into other beaches of the State of Ceara, like Lagoinha, Morro Branco, Praia das Fontes, Canoa Quebrada.
The people were very friendly, and as I speak portuguese it was very interesting!!

We originally made reservations to stay at the Flat Classic in Fortaleza, but moved to the Holiday Inn after seeing it. The Holiday Inn was much nicer than the Holiday Inn's in the states. The room had many ammenities including: refrig, high speed internet, desk/table space, sitting area, large shower, in-room safe (free) and air conditioning by remote control. The rooms all have views of the ocean, which is right across the street.

The hotel is also walking distance to the shopping district nearby.

We enjoyed the pool, although it is on the small side. The morning breakfast (included) was pretty extensive and had lots of fresh fruit and breads. They also had an omlet bar.

We were happy with the Holiday Inn and would return!
