“hotel OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

I was on a business trip and stayed there two nights. The hotel is OK, but I was very disappointed the second night I had to send a report and badly needed internet and the internet was down.
Personnel was not worried at all, or looking for alternatives for me or helping to solve the problem, they just said, yes is down and that is it.

Impressive lobby area and pleasant staff. The restaurant is OK but pricey - you can try the shopping mall round the corner instead, but breakfast was just fine with a good variety and plenty of it. Room was OK but as in so many hotels the lighting is too dim.
Not all rooms have security boxes but there was no trouble moving to one that did.

The lobby is really fancy, and the hotel's location is good (just 1 block from the Manauara shopping). But apart from these, everything is slope down.
The room which I have been is small, old style, with a small bed, and worst of all, with an A/C unit that's really noisy (so if you are a hard sleeper, just do not think about the Da Vinci).
The breakfast, where I had higher expectations according to other reviews, is really scarce (I had breakfast at 8 am, and 10 am, and in both occasions the amount of things you could get was really scarce.
There's some humidity smell around the hotel corridors.
If going on a business trip, would not recommend it.
The pool is OK, and the fitness area (it is not a room, as it is open, and just beside the pool), is OK.
You can get a free internet access, although the connectivity is not the best.

This is the worst place I've ever stayed for business. I've stayed in youth hostels and low end hotels on my $, but when traveling for work you need a place that you can feel comfortable. The da vinci has a beautiful lobby - but the rooms are small, dark, dirty and smelly. The beds are too short (I felt sorry for my 6 foot plus colleague) and the internet service was abysmal at best. We switched hotels as soon as we could.

I have already stayed in the hotel several times and I can recommend it. Hotel is roomy, the breakfast is very high standart, little more difficulties by the communication with the personal.
