“Good renovated rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

I stayed at the Bosna few times. While the old rooms are a bit "sad" and look filty and not very welcoming, the new ones are very good. The staff is not very helpful. The frist time I stayed the room was too warm and I could not regulate the heating. When i called the reception I was told that it was my problem and they could not do anything about it. Giving the benefit of the doubts I thought it might be a language issue, hwoever it sounded pretty rude to me and nothing was done to accomodate my request. It is too expensive for what it offers.

Room Tip: Renovated rooms are good; while old ones are pretty shabby so I would suggest if you want to save mo...

The Bosna is centrally located In Banja Luka (as are the Palas and Vindovic). We appear to have paid top price (have prices increased since the previous reviews?) but for this got a modern room on the top floor. which we found very satisfactory. Yes, it can be noisy if there's a wedding, but we asked for a room away from the open stairway and so weren't troubled by the noisy wedding on the first night we were there. We also asked for a no smoking room – but it seems there's no such thing in Bosnia. You can open the window so as to air the room, but in fact our room was fine (different story in the hallway, however, where there was a lingering smoke smell!) The bathroom was fine and the strange wash basin tap worked well. The two lifts were slow and didn't cope well at busy times (but if you're on a lower floor, you'd use the stairs). Reception wasn't over friendly but handled all our requests professionally. Breakfast was good, and the internet worked well.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the open stairway will have less noise from functions on the mezzanine floor.

Big hotel. Nice lookong suite. However, flat screen tv did not work. And no hot water to fill the jacuzzi. Still had to pay full price. Not very good service or friendly staff. Breakfast acceptable. A less than pleasant experience, but at a considrrable price. Location is central.

The Hotel has great location in the very downtown of Banja Luka, with the advantage of being withing walking distance to main attractions in Banja Luka. However, its location can also be a downside especially in summer as the rooms facing the main street can get very noisy.
It is very old hotel, which you can see and feel everywhere. Should you be looking for time machine experience it is ok. Some of the rooms have been renovated - I guess they are called A category rooms. I never stayed at the other ones and would not risk. Those renovated ones are decent and clean, with very basic facilities. Bathroom has fancy furniture, but every bath tube or shower leaks and I already had two floods.
The Internet connections works perfectly and I have never faced a problem with it.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is rather basic.
The hotel has parking, which is also one of the advantages.
I usually use it for business visits to Banja Luka and especially enjoy summer meetings as it has huge cafe at the garden in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: If you want view ask for the room facing the main street but then you endanger sleep quality as they...

I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times, always on business, the last time at the end of January 2012. The location of the hotel is excellent - in the closest vicinity of the centre and the main street with shops and cafes. The hotel is big. Make sure you book an A-luxe room. I have stayed also in a B-luxe, but I would not like to repeat it, those rooms are basic or some of them even poorer than that. A-luxe rooms are more than acceptable. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. The bathroom is modern with state-of-the-art shower-cabin with radio and light in, but take care when turning water on, so as not to have your hair washed as well, if you don't want to. You get a bath-robe and slippers. There is a pretty small wardrobe in the room, but no coat-hangers separately in the antechamber.
Breakfast is good, offers a vaariety of food.
There is a nice (a little bit old-fashioned) cafe in the hotel, I liked it very much. As far as I remember, there is also a hair-stylist and a couple of shops.
The hotel is recommendable. The largest downside is reception-staff. They are arrogant and annoyingly impolite.
The breakfast is

Room Tip: Book an A-luxe room!

Hotel offer two kind of rooms - class A costs 85 € and class B which costs around 60€. I got a room class B on the fourth floor. I don't have major objections on the room, except a smell of tobacco which annoyed me quite, and it was too hot – heating regulator was broken and I couldn’t turn the heating off. The breakfast was OK. The hotel is located in the city center, very busy with a lot of guests; I think for that reason the stuff looks pretty uninterested when treating guests.

My 60Euro single room was comfortable enough and the location is pretty central. The major disappointment for me was the wifi. It was very weak in the room and not much better in the hallways. I told one of the receptionists who asked which room I was in and then shrugged his shoulders when I told him.

It's a big, soulless hotel and it's fine for a short visit if you don't need wifi. Personally I'll stick with the Talija, which is smaller and better all round.
