“Have always enjoyed my stay!!”

Best Western Peppertree Auburn Inn

Oct 16, 2005

I have been staying at the Peppertree Inn since 1999. The staff has always been friendly, and the hotel clean and quite. I have stayed in a variety of different types of rooms depending on my or my family's needs at the time, and have always been satisfied. My last stay, we found that the hotel was in the midst of adding an additional 40 rooms. A little extra dust, a little extra noise, however what can you do during construction? They must be doing something right in order to need to add that many more rooms. I plan on staying again soon, and have been told by friends that the construction is complete and the new rooms are great.

My two teenage daughters and I stayed in a queen suite at the BW Peppetree Auburn Inn. The room was huge, very clean, comfortable beds, and a nice view of Mt. Ranier (we were on the 4th floor). The lobby is beautiful, and the staff was very friendly. The indoor pool and spa were nice with plenty of extra towels. The breakfast was great - plenty of choices (6-9 am). Hot and cold cereal, bagels, muffins, beverages. You could make your own waffle (2 big waffle irons...took about 2 minutes per person). There was a make-your-own-souffle area with ham, bacon, veggies, and cheese to put into your bowl, add the eggs, and then microwave for 90 seconds. No fresh fruit but there was juice, canned peaches and fruit cocktail. The staff kept everything full and clean, and it was a nice big pleasant room. There was still a little bit of finish construction in progress (carpet trim, etc.) but no noise, glue smells, etc. Bonus: This motel is about 1/2 mile from the Super Mall of the Northwest, a large mall that is a combination of outlet and regular retail stores, with a food court. Good shopping! The motel is across a parking lot from a BBQ restaurant that was very busy on Friday night so I'm guessing was pretty good, though we didn't eat there. (Room had microwave and frig, by the way). Would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again if we are in this area.

“NOt as advertised, unfinished hotel”

Hotel advertises "100% High speed Internet AND Wireless Access"

Even after booking months in advance, getting told we were getting a deluxe suite with all ammenities, about $159 per night I think (2 Queens and a sofabed, desk and chair, wireless acess etc.) I found that my wireless connection didn't work We were told by the front desk there was no wireless acess and they they didn't advertise that they did. They actually do, even on this page.

They gave me a cord for the connection, still no access, we were then told "That room doesn't have acess."
But it had a dead Cat5 jack?

5' from our window and on scaffolding up at the 4th floor, siding was being hammered up until 7PM at night, by 7:30 PM they were still hammering just a few feet from the window on a new extension, the landscape and view was a pickup truck with workmen having a barbecue and a pile of dirt in front of the overpass (don't forget your camera for this one!).

Getting back to the hotel at 1:30AM and quite tired, I found the sofabed wasn't made, was covered in Taco chips and stains. I called the front desk to be told I could come down and get some sheets. You'll need to practice fitting the wrong sheets to the wrong matress at home before your visit. Sheets didn't fit (made for a cot) so I ended up just crashing on the couch, much better.

Free breakfast was closed at 9:AM (early riser only please)

This is one of the most expensive hotels in the area, suites are not much bigger than any other hotel around for less than half the cost. They don't provide what they advertise, the staff were rude for the most part, though the checkout staff in the AM were nice enough.
