After looking at the prices of all the other hotels in this area we chose this hotel mainly for the price...$59.00 a night.

The check-in was smooth and fast, the hallway leading to our room smelled fresh and clean and so did our room.

The room (a standard queen size ) was very small, but we were just there for the night. The bed was very comfortable and came with extra pillows, which we liked because we always call and ask for more.

Beside the queen bed and two side tables, there was a large ledge you could sit on by the window, a desk and chair, and a closet with a 20' TV.

The hotel is located next to train tracks, but the train does not blow its whistle and did not wake us up during the night and I am a light sleeper.

There is a continental breakfast included with the room, but we chose to sleep in and did not try it.

Upon check out we did help ourselves to a cup of coffee they have available in the front lobby.

We would definately stay here again, the room and hotel was clean, the staff was very friendly and the price can't be beat!

A silly side note, the shampoo they use has real honey in it and smells great when washing your hair. This goes along with the bear they have as their mascot at Travelodges.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in july/07.

The first thing I noticed was that it was very clean in the rooms.

The staff was sparse but very friendly. There was only one front desk agent on at any given time.

I've read a few reviews about the train noise. I only heard it when I had my window open. I was on the side closest to the tracks. If you're a very light sleeper I might not recommend this hotel, but it never bothered me at all.

The hotel is a great choice for travelers who are looking for a clean place to spend the night.

“clean, comfortable, nice little extras”

Travelodge Auburn Suites

Jan 8, 2007

We booked this property for a family event. All together, four rooms as this was close to my sisters home just up the hill in Auburn. I had read the reviews and was a bit concerned about the supposed noise from the trains and a few other things. Fortunately, the place turned out to be very comfortable and friendly. It is managed by a lovely couple who were quite kind as well as the director of sales who went out of her way to assist us. The young adults they employ at night are not nearly as helpful and friendly but not rude either. If you need something, ask during the day as the day staff just seems more interested in helping you. Rooms are small and spartan but clean and with good mattresses. I love the fact that they don't try to perfume the rooms and hallways with deodorizers which many people including myself are allergic to. The place was just clean and didn't smell of anything. Noise from the nearby train tracks was NOT loud at all. Air con/heater worked nicely. The continental breakfast is simple but nice. Tea, coffee, toast, muffins, juices and fruit. One nice surprise was free wireless internet with a public pc available for free use in the cozy lobby. Lots of fast food and a large grocery store all within walking distance. The basic rooms lack a refrigerator, but the larger rooms have them along with a microwave and bar sink. All in all, highly recommend. Good value and pleasant! -Mark from Tucson

“Not what it seems”

Travelodge Auburn Suites

This place is just a pit stop on the way to Seattle. I'm glad that's all it is because it isn't a place I'd like to stay in for more than a night. First the good: the room is very clean and it looks new. It's generally very quiet since it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. And there's this great mexican restaurant down the street called Margherita's. Ask the front desk for a coupon.

Now the bad: it's quiet as long as the train doesn't go by, no one is using the elevator, or your neighbors happen to be the mousy type. The walls are thin and the the window doesn't keep any noise out. The rooms are tiny. I'm in a room with a king size bed that has enough space on each side to accommodate a nightstand. Net access is 'okay'. The signal strength is showing 'very low'.

More complaints that may be rectified by the time anyone wants to visit this place: the elevator is currently non-functional. In the same breath that the front desk told me this, I was also informed that I had a room on the second floor. Lucky me. I'm traveling alone, so I get to lug my travel bag up a flight a stairs. As it so happened, a gentleman coming down the stairs offerred to help take my bag up when he saw me struggling with it. Anopther thing, for all you people who checked out the website and realized that this hotel offers belgian waffles for breakfast, make sure you call and find out if they really are offering them. The machine that creates those belgian waffles is currently broken. They have eggos instead =/

Some reflections: New is not necessarily better. And even though there are gems out there in all sorts of places (hotels, restaurants, etc), this is definitely not one of them. The place is okay, just as long as you don't expect anything out of it other than a clean room.

This hotel is very nice and was remodeled not to long ago. My experience started with the very rude front desk. They lost my reservations and even with my print out that I had they still were giving us a hard time. Once in the room which was very small for the price I had to listen to my neighbors fighting because the walls are very thin. If you do stay there ask for a room on the east end of the hotel so the trains are not as loud.
