My side of the family camps once together every year, but last year we decided to stay in yurts at guemes instead to accommodate babies/kids and me being pregnant. We (9 adults and 2 kiddos and one dog) all loved the resort. We stayed in the four 16" yurts and used the picnic shelter and fire pit for our meals. The only thing I didn't like was the yurts not having a view, the fire pit being so far away from the yurts that we had to either retire early with the kids or keep the kids up really late in order to hang out later in the evening. Usually we just put them down in the tent next to us while camping and continue to sit around the fire into the night. Also, would have loved to have more than one fire pit for the yurt users since we had to share with the family in the last yurt and its nicer to have some privacy with your own party. These were not huge issues and we expected these things before we came so they weren't surprised or really that inconvenienced by them. Other than that, everything was awesome. The staff was friendly and helpful. The check in was easy. The gift shop is cute and nice to saunter around or grab a cup of coffee...or ice cream. :) By far the best part was the beach and the spectacular views. For this reason we have booked a waterfront cabin and one of the houses on the beach for our trip this year. It will be wonderful to be on the water the whole time and not just between meals. We are excited to use the cozy fire places and lovely views from the cabins/house first thing in the morning and all day long. Theres also a firepit on the beach for the cabin users. And there's an open grass area in front of the cabins before the beach starts that is a communal area to hang out at picnic tables, play bocce on the grass or horseshoes, or let the kids play. Beach is also awesome for the kids. The whole place is very relaxing. There's a free sauna, which we didn't try but will this year. Didn't try the wood burning jacuzzi either but heard great things from the other guests. The yurts we stayed in were roomy, clean, plenty of supplies inside in case you forgot towels, etc. I think you had to pay extra for those but only if they were used, which we didn't. Looking forward to being able to put the kids down in a room in the cabin with a monitor and be able to sit outside still. Or start a fire in the living room if it gets cold out. I'll hopefully remember to update this once we get back from our trip next month. Highly recommend!!
Cabins and houses have views but are more expensive. Yurts are much les expensive and you can always...
