“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

High price does not mean high class. But the chowder was good. We waited, and waited. Then got drinks. Then waited and waited. Then it got worse.

“Rediviva means "revived" in Latin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

What a delightful evening spent in the company of fine food and great service.
First things first: The chef/owner prides his restaurant on using fresh, locally obtained items in his preparations as much as possible. There is no salt or pepper on the tables and there is no can opener in the kitchen. Even the coffee is locally roasted.
We started our evening with martinis made with a little known gin that was just “slightly” sweet and very smooth going down. I wouldn’t expect sweetness to be associated with a martini but it was very agreeable. The bread on the table was fresh and served with a pineapple/curry butter. For an appetizer we had a cup of little neck clam chowder. It was rich and tasty without the thickness of flour based chowder and loaded with tender little neck clams. My wife and I had a breast of duck with a tangy plum sauce. I was beautifully served. The duck was plump and sliced nice and thick, tender and cooked to a medium degree, just like ordered. Along with the meal we had a bottle of wine. The wine (Pinot Gris) was recommended by our waiter who was very knowledgeable on the wines and it fit our meal choices perfectly. For desert we had the chef’s special for the evening of his version of New Orleans beignets with powdered sugar on a bed of creamy, sweet, buttery sauce. For the entire meal, we give it two thumbs up, if not even better.
Rediviva is a small, intimate, upscale, café. It is decorated in a modified urban décor and emphasizes the nautical history of “Columbia Rediviva”, a sailing vessel of Capt. Robert Gray. Perhaps the walls of paned glass can be opened during nice weather. It has a full service bar area. Most of the seating is at tables for two or four. If you have reservations (which we highly recommend) they can accommodate larger parties. From the outside the Rediviva is a striking example of modern minimalist architecture tucked in to a downtown core. If you are traveling through or a resident it can be easy to drive by, but if you want superb food served with panache and personality, Rediviva is a place for you that shouldn’t be overlooked.

“Intimate and Classy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

We ate here on 1/21/14 after hearing about it. Wow! It is such a classy, intimate, wonderful place. In the old Mallards" restaurant at 118 Wishkah, it has been completely redone and is beautiful. This is the place to take your love for a special meal. The food is to die for, and the staff treats you like you are special. Awesome place!

“Classy and Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

I had heard that the portions would be small at this restaurant and that it would be similar to something out of New York or Seattle and not fitting for Aberdeen. I was proven wrong. Although the food is a big step up from the average restaurant in the area, the portions were very filling and the wait staff was friendly and knowledgable (they didn't seem put off when I asked for suggestions or clarification). But my favorite things about this restaurant are the honest, fresh local food and the fact that there are 20+ employees in an area where unemployment is a major problem (we have the highest unemployment in the state fairly consistently). Great job and keep up the progress and good work! I'll be back and trying new dishes with an open mind.
