“Unimpressive at best.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

This sea food stop is nothing more than a fish market with a side room for eating. It stinks of fish as you walk in and your experience is about stinky.

The food is frozen unlike the display case as you walk in... I feel this is a gross misrepresentation of what to expect. The food is bland and costly for frozen food.

If your one who just has to have sea food, then you will get just that here. Just don't expect fresh fish, it is from a food service company!

“Fresh and Local”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

This is not a high-end restaurant with white linen and candle light. Aberdeen is a blue-collar town and the breakwater hometown place serving good, fresh seafood. Locals love it. My personal favorites are halibut and chips and the sea breeze salad. It is located in an older building, right on the river and has good views of the river. In good weather, there is an outdoor deck, great for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Open 7 days a week. I go often and am never disappointed. You will order and pay at the counter and then the yummy food will be served quite promptly. Beer and desserts are available. One can also purchase fresh and frozen seafood for home use. They have seafood recipe books and seasoning as well as packaged smoked salmon and seafood seasoning. It's a no pressure, good place for lunch and dinner.

“Great lunch stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Stopped for lunch on the way through town. Fresh seafood and very nice staff. Bright sunny, clouds and sun lol, so they opened deck for us and wiped rain drops off table and chairs. Portions were right sized for lunch and right priced for fresh quality seafood. Double crab and cheese sandwich, fried oysters and a lb of steamers. All yum. French fries were crispy lightly battered, also yum. Not stuffed, but satisfied and time to get back on road going northwest....

“Fresh fish, good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

How can you rave about fish and chips? It's either good, or it isn't. Except at Breakwater, where it is very good. It's a little off the beaten path, and the parking is limited, but the staff are friendly and the food is excellent. Their price for halibut and chips is medium to low compared with other restaurants in the area serving halibut and chips. The location on the riverfront is quaint, and the weather can give you quite a show during your brief wait for your order.

“OK -- nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Decent but nothing to rave about. It seems like they specialize in fried seafoods and that's not my favorite way of preparation. Clam chowder was good but had a lot of bacon in it if you like that. I thought it worked. There is a fairly extensive fish market aspect to this place but I thought prices were quite high considering the location.
