Hello, I wish I could get in touch with the person who wrote the 1st review. When I first read the review, I was going to defend Brenda. Ha! Im glad I didn't - here's my story...I took a group to a Kings Dominion weekend event. We stayed at the Ashland Inn two years in a row with only one minor problem. (nothing to complain about) This was 2-3 years ago. I have worked with Brenda in the past. She was always very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, when I called to make reservations this year, I was unable to reach her. When I finally reached her, she took my phone number and never called me back. Today, 3/9/05, I called to speak to her. Becky anwered the phone - I asked to speak to Brenda. She said, "She's talking right now." - Not, "she's unavailable or she's with a customer, may I help you?" I explained to her that I have been trying to reach Brenda for over a month - obviously they are too busy. She laughed. I asked her what was so funny. She said, "You said we're too busy and I just asked if I could help you." She was soooo rude! I told her since she was so rude, I definately wanted to speak to Brenda. Her exact words were, "Knock yourself out, she's my mom!" Oh my goodness! I was absolutely floored. I spoke to Brenda and explained my experience. I could tell by the tone of her voice that she obviously didnt care either. She asked if she could help me. I told her no, not after everyone had been so rude to me. I reminded her that we have worked together in the past with no problems. I told her what her daughter said to me. Her answer was - "You are only giving one side of the story." I told her I would speak to her manager and/or the owner to share my experience. I also told her about the negative comments about her listed on this website. I will NEVER NEVER stay at the Ashland Inn! I did call back and asked for Brenda's supervisor's name and number. I was told that they could not give out that information. (what?!) I was given the name Neil Patel - manager/owner. I was not given a phone number. I was told that he comes in whenever he feels like it. Hopefully, I can reach him. This was totally ridiculous.
