New, but still a step below other "Suite" chains. We had enough problems with our stay that we checked out and spent remainder of trip at Embassy Suites in Richmond. Mechanical problems with pool forced it's closure on our first day. Repairman was called, but was unable to get the parts and left. The next day I asked the front desk on the status of the repairs, and they didn't even know the pool was closed! Evidently no communication b/w managers. Another tech had to be called and ultimately the situation was not going to be resolved so we checked out. Management was cooperative enough with us and understood our plight with small children, but other areas were marginal that contribute to lower score. The pool area was dirty, breakfast was weak, and in-room curtains didn't close (by design). On the up side, great access to King's Dominion, good TV channel selection, the high-speed internet was nice, and good restaurants were nearby.
