We spent 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Ashland, Va.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable.
We even had a choice of soft or firm pillows.
The pool was small but adequate.
The hot tub was wonderful to soak tired backs and legs and feet at the end of the day.
The breakfast bar included their signature cinnamon rolls, cereal, bagels, donuts, fruit, yogurt, sausage, hard boiled eggs, juice, milk and coffee.
Would stay there again.

Wow... just wow! The lobby was immaculate, the room looked like we were the 1st people to stay there and the staff was helpful. This Holiday Inn Express may as well be a resort hotel! The layout wasn't your standard hotel, the lobby and rooms had very nice, modern decor and the "Stay Smart" ammenities were all there, which is always great.

I have not a single complaint, the property was great! The price was awesome too, just a wonderful stay!

Our family stayed at the Holiday Inn for the weekend and it was a positive experience. Good location for a King's Dominion weekend which is just 8 minutes away. A few restaurants within walking distance and being right next to Cracker Brarrel is a big plus. The hotel did have plenty of fresh food at the breakfast buffet which separates this hotel from the rest. There is an indoor pool and a hot tub but both were a little cool on the temperature side. We reserved a suite and it had enough room for all four of us. The internet worked well in the room however the business office, a.k.a. lobby computer, was not working. The staff was friendly and worked hard to keep the place tidy. We definetely would return considering all the other choices.

We stayed here for 3 nights during the Rock n Roll 400 at Richmond International Speedway(Sept 6-9). Hotel is right off I95 exit 92. It is surrounded by all kinds of restaurants.(McDonalds is right next to it, Applebees, Arbys,Subway..etc).We had 2 2bedroom suites which had plenty of room to sleep 5 in each. Room had a tv in the bedroom and one in the sitting area. Had a refrigerator and small microwave oven and a coffee maker.I thought the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. Hotel has a small indoor pool and a hot tub. The best part was the free breakfast in the morning. Plenty of hot and cold foods to choose from. They offer enough to have a full breakfast and you can leave with a full stomach. It only took about 10 minutes to get to the speedway from there. The only thing i wish they had was an outdoor pool being it was over 90 degrees everday we were there.
