We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Ashland, VA as a midway stop between NJ and Myrtle Beach, SC. We enjoyed our stay so much on the way down that we booked our room for the return trip during our checkout.

The hotel was very clean, the pool and gym were also very clean and spatious. The staff was very kind and accomodating.

We loved the warm chocolate chip cookies in the evening and the buffet breakfast exceeded our expectations. They even had "on the go" breakfast bags at the front desk for those who need to eat on the run.

You will not be disappointed!

I stayed here in Sept. 2004 without a reservation and got a great walk in AAA rate ($85). Great hotel. Perfect front desk service. Needed 2 extra pillows; got them immediately. Breakfast was superb as with all Hampton Inns. We came across this hotel by reviewing the AAA mid-Atlantic handbook. No road noise because it sits back 1/2 mile or so from the freeway. There is a Ruby Tuesday restaurant a couple of doors down which we dined at and was pleased with as well.

We stop in this area everytime we travel south to SC or FL visiting our family. We have stayed at each of the hotels, some more than once. This was the first time we stayed at the Hampton Inn, however. It was great. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. There is a breakfast included in your stay and it was very nice, with bagels, toast, french toast, waffles, cereals both hot and cold, juices, etc. this will now be the hotel we stay in during our 8 trips down south each year!
