“Closed :(”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

This restaurant is now closed. Used to go weekly for breakfast. Went during Christmas week and place was locked up and booths stacked. No note, sad.

“Wonderful Greek Food !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

My wife and I have found the most wonderful Greek restaurant and it's located right in our neighborhood here in Ashburn, Virginia !! We highly recommend their Greek Specialties. We both have had the Moussaka, Pastichio, the Gyro Platter, and the lamb dish Arni Kapama. All are absolutely delicious with the right combinations or herbs and spices. The Vegetable of the Day always complements the entree which usually consists of green beans, carrots, and/or zucchini.
Most of the Greek entrees come with a very nice sized salad or soup and plenty of garlic bread.
If you are a gourmet of Greek food, this is the place to come. The service is friendly and good and you will not be disappointed with the the large portions.
We highly recommend this restaurant. Call first, sometimes they close early.

“Ample portions, true Greek seasonings, extensive menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

Having spent some time on one of the Greek islands earlier in 2012, our kids thought it would be fun to have lunch at Amvrosia. The restaurant, as most in the area, is located in a strip mall with a rather inconspicuous storefront. The interior is typical strip-mall style, with booths and tables fronting the kitchen, and is decorated in a Greek-style decor. This is a family run business and everyone we encountered were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. We ordered Gyros plates which come with chips; french fries are extra, although this would be standard fare in the home country. The portion was more than sufficient for a lunch meal, but the meat was a bit on the well-done side and appeared to have been shaved prior to the order being placed. Their tzatziki was very good, with enough garlic and cucumber to enhance the Greek joghurt. One order came with the tzatziki served in a side container; the other came with it on top of the gyro. Additional tzatziki is an extra charge.

The restaurant has an extensive Greek menu with nearly every standard meal one expects to be served in the culture. Although we found this lunch meal quite average, our kids think the restaurant rates higher. This may be due to the fact that they've dined during evening meals which allow for the tasting of a wider fare.

If you're interested in good Greek food in the Ashburn, VA, area, we would recommend you try Amvrosia for yourself. Our luncheon experience of overcooked gyros may have been an anomaly.
