“Good value but the service could do with a shake up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2010

Stayed here for two nights. The front desk personnel (Bobbie) isn't too pleased to see or help guests. A warm smile and an ability to converse, or at least respond when spoken to, would definitely help a lot. There was some construction going on (carpet replacement??) which was noisy from early in the day. There was no mention (sign, verbal etc) that there was construction going on and to please excuse the noise/imposition. Room cleanliness was ok, however upon moving the bedside table to plug in my cell phone charger I found a used condom and package! I dared not look behind anything else. I would recommend this hotel only to those who don't mind a grumpy matron behind the counter and a cheap place to stay near DC.

My son and his friend stayed at this Days Inn and he lost his wallet, credit cards, drivers license and all of his money in the hotel shuttle bus. The driver, Abraham was very kind enough to give it to the supervisor Tarun who put it in the safe. My son was beside himself with worry and the next day he went to the hotel and they gave it to him. Unbelievable....there are honest people in the world!!!!! Thankyou

The best and worst I could say about this hotel is that it is adequate. For the price I have perhaps stayed in something comparable or worse. The hotel is definitely past its prime by a good many years, and so everything has seen better days, and most hotels I've stayed in were newer and nicer aesthetically. (The pictures posted show the hotel at a time that looks long ago.) My biggest complaint is not a problem that necessarily anyone else will experience: the family in the room right next to the one I was in had a screaming argument past midnight on my first night in town after a twelve hour trip. When I called the desk to complain, the clerk came up and told them to be quiet. As soon as he disappeared, they were immediately at one another again. I called the desk a second time and was told there was not much more that could be done, so the hotel staff was not terribly helpful with the matter, and the family kept at it for a while longer before everyone finally went to bed. They checked out the next morning, so that was the end of them. Another issue was general room cleanliness. It was not horrendous, but it could have been better. There was hair left on the bathroom floor from previous guests, and the maid staff never replaced the plastic bag in which I got my evening supply of ice, so I used the same one four nights in a row, not a huge problem, but maid service was, like most everything, adequate. One other gripe is that the hotel is not as conveniently located to too many restaurants or Metro as I would have hoped, so it is not as convenient to DC as some travelers might expect or want, and spending a bit extra cash on another hotel might be warranted for the sake of convenience. It was definitely necessary to drive several miles to find the nearest Metro station and then drive around and around to find parking. Thus, if you're going to DC, there must be hotels better situated than this one. DC is a city with terrible traffic and parking issues, so parking and transportation are definitely something to consider when selecting a hotel. All in all, if cheap is what you need or want and you don't mind driving around a lot to see the sights of DC, this hotel may suit your needs.

I was there to visit the place and I stayed in Days Inn motel. I loved the location and their service. Receptionist was very polite and helpful. I liked their free breakfast too.

Value for money hotel, close to Washington Downtown (takes only 30mintues to ge there). I saw quiet a few bad reviews, its not that bad! The rooms were clean and hotel was Ok, bit musty. I paid only $70 for double room and so close to Washington you can expect the Ritz or Hilton! I didnt have any problems with room cleanliness or anything.

My family had planned a long trip to south america that day, and we had our close friends drive us to the airport (national)which was an hour drive. After we check in with our heavy luggages and a baby, we found out that our flight was canceled. We couldn't call our anyone to pick us up cause it was late so i knew this motel/hotel which wasn't that expensive on columbia pike. we rented a car and drove there, finally we are gonna get some rest....
I get in there and the guy who works there was sitting on the couch for the customers reading a newspaper , he didn't even bother to go up, so i asked if they had any rooms. He just looked at me and said yes but not for you? What??
He said that they had bad experience, ok i look young i am 22 years old and i was going to pay. Seriously thats a very bad customer service at least be customer oriented or give your employees some courses on how to take care of the customers.

Anyways i had to go find another hotel which was actually cheaper and closer to the airport.

I wouldn't recomend this hotel/motel for anyone.
