“Had a great stay at the Sheraton National Hotel”

Sheraton National Hotel

Nov 28, 2007

We stayed at the Sheraton National in Arlington, VA during the Thanksgiving holiday from 11-21-07 to 11-24-07. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the accomodations, the staff, the hotel amenities and, of course, the price ($79.00 per night which included parking at $16.00 a day). We got a great deal on Travelzoo's website. We came into town to be with our son whose going to school at Howard University School of Divinity. Flying into Reagan Nat'l and renting a car placed us in close proximity to the hotel, the school and all other attractions in D.C. We had such a wonderful time here that we would definately consider on staying here again.

“Good Hotel - WAY OUT OF THE WAY - but close”

Sheraton National Hotel

OK - It's important to know that travel websites consider hotel distances as the crow flies - not as you can actually travel. The Sheraton National gets a good mixed review from me.

The Good - Room was great, got a nice suite at a great price.
The staff was nice the concierge lounge was also.
Bellmen and Phone operators are great and VERY
hepful with rides and directions.

The bad - Locked out twice by my key card.
Pool heater broken the whole time.
Can't get there from here...
This is a crazy location it is close to crystal city but
you must navigate like a sea captain to get t where
you want. My Cab driver got lost! (no not to just run
up my fare)

“I felt 'Violated'”

Sheraton National Hotel

Oct 4, 2007

The Hotel was upscale, with a beautiful room. The problem occured as I extended my stay with them. They had lowered my rate....great! Then, instead of being open and honest, and telling me they needed the rate to go back up, they started to mistreat me to drive me out. I can only guess this is the reason. In one day, they entered my room three times without knocking...each time acting confused over whether I was checking out or not. Having spoken with the desk, they should have been more than clear. On that same evening, they then entered my room while I was out to dinner, and lock me out of my room. I had to make a special trip to the desk, and actually debate the situation with a desk clerk who was concerned about a deposit, which I had to show her, was already paid through my own documents. Only then was I allowed back into my own paid room! I understand mistakes do occur, but this one was quite embarressing, notwithstanding an invasion on my privacy. The confusion and mistake turned out to be on the Hotel's part, but without any apology. I decided it best to check out the following morning. When I reported the situation to upper management, nothing was done. The complaint has remains unaddressed.

...but this was easily the most comfortable of them all. The staff was kind and courteous, my room was extremely clean, and we were even able to get good transportation to and from DCA when we arrived. I can't praise the staff enough, my wife and I had a great time, thanks!
