“Disappointing Hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2006

I didn't have a bad stay, but I'd say it was definitely disappointing. Good points first: The beds were comfortable, the size of the room was acceptable, the view was good (but the window was filthy), the bathroom was functional with plenty of towels and the room service was good. Now for the one big bad point: We had a roach problem! It was late when I saw the roach so I called the front desk and told them about the problem. The receptionist's response was actually funny; she said: we don't usually have a roach problem on the 7th floor. So I guess she was trying to tell me that they do have a roach problem on the lower floors?! Anyway the following morning I received a call from the manager, she was very apologetic and offered us a concierge level room, so we moved. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to still have roaches in the concierge level room. I checked out the next day. I know it's not the end of the world but that's just not acceptable, and especially not acceptable for the rate of $325/night. Verdict: pleased with good service and friendly staff, but very disappointed with roach infested rooms, all the way to the concierge level!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2006

Just came back from a weekend in DC, and we were quiet pleased with the Marriot Key Bridge.
Positives:
- Nice location across the bridge from Georgetown. Lots of restaurants and shops are easily accessible by walking about 10 min across the bridge. A metro station is about 5 min away and connects to any other place in DC.
- The best bed - period. Very comfortable.
- Nice view of the Potomac.

Negatives:
- No free internet. It's $9.90 a day.
- Aircraft noise from planes flying into National Airport (not too bad)

FYI: Parking is $12/d

The location of the hotel was wonderful. We had a view of the Washington Monument. The beds were extremely comfortable and the sheets were great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was a bit pricey, and wireless internet was only available in the lobby, but overall I would recommend this hotel to business or leisure travelers.

  • Liked — The beds were wonderful.
  • Disliked — Wireless internet only available in lobby and charged over $6 for a 24 hour period.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2006

After a long flight across country and securing our rental car, we were relieved to finally arrive at the Key Bridge Marriott. When we tried to check into our room we were told that all they had was a room with 2 double beds instead of the King we had reserved. We asked that they move us when one was available but that never happened. The rooms are so small that with two beds, you could hardly walk around.

We opened the curtains to find that we were overlooking the pool. When we looked outside in the morning we found that the pool had been drained. There were no tables or chairs to sit on outside and the painting crews became our view.

At $299/night we were looking for something a whole lot better than this.
