“Not Quite Top Tier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

We stayed two nights in May 2014. We are frequent Marriott customers and Elite members. Overall, this property is clean, comfortable, and the staff were excellent. But the standard rooms are among the smallest I've seen at a Marriott. Ditto for the bathrooms. The hallways in the middle floors are somewhat dark and narrow, but still clean. The sound insulation is only fair. While the building is obviously old, they have kept it up-to-date in the public areas. All of the staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in both the restaurant and the concierge lounge and both were great. The hotel is pretty convenient to most locations in DC, and it's a quick taxi ride (although some of the competition provide shuttle service). Internet service was good.

Room Tip: I have no basis for comparison at this particular property, but you may want to ask about the room d...

Green Features: Marriott seems to have embraced a very environmentally conscious business approach.

This is our third stay at this wonderful hotel located on the Arlington side of the Key Bridge and
just a shortbwalk to M street. This location makes it so you can easily access Georgetown without
being stuck in the thick of it.The rooms are spacious and well appointed, you can avail of self parking with unlimited in- out priveliges, room service is prompt and reasonably priced. The real
stars are the personnel with Roland and Hafiz at the front desk and Martha and Aster in the breakfast lounge who were outstanding.
Tip number one- ask for a room facing Georgetown, the views are lovely and it is quieter at night.
Tip number two- get the breakfast package,Martha makes amazing omelettes.

Room Tip: Georgetown facing rooms ,excellent breakfasts and the parking is a bargain.

Have stayed here before and the hotel is always clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are nice and very helpful. The concierge is very nice and very helpful with lots of great tips. Check in and check out are always fast. Bell hops are friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but very clean, with comfortable beds and plenty of fluffy towels. Housekeeping staff was great. The hotel is just across the Key Bridge from Georgetown, a nice walk on a beautiful day. The Metro is a short 3 block walk away and takes you directly downtown.
I only have 3 complaints- a $19/day charge for parking, having to pay for the internet if used in your room and the service in the restaurant for breakfast is terrible. We always ordered the buffet but it took forever to get juice and coffee even when it was not busy. They seem to do a lot of talking and arguing between themselves. I must say that the chefs behind the buffet were very good. They make great omelettes!
Would stay here again, but hope the service in the restaurant improves.

My husband and I just returned from 3 nights at this hotel. I was a little nervous due to past reviews, but found myself pleasantly surprised.
Check in was fast and easy. The rooms are small, but was fine for the two of us. They were clean, and comfortable.
The location was great! We loved being able to walk across the bridge to Georgetown. The metro was .3 miles away too. I think the location is what made it for us.
The service was also really good. Everyone was very friendly and wanting to help. It really stood out.
I would recommend staying here.

This hotel was very convient and a beautiful property, BUT for the money they charge they have one hel of a nerve to charge you for the internet service. You can stay at a very inexpensive hotel or motel and get free internet in and around the DC area

Room Tip: if you stay at this hotel bring your own hot spot modem or pay through the nose

We stayed here as a family for 6 nights last week. Great location and very solid hotel. Loved that we could have all 5 of us in one room (albeit tight!) with a rollaway bed. We learned that this is the first-ever Marriott hotel (there was a motel before it that no longer exists), but it has obviously been renovated and is in good condition for it's age.

Our room was a typically smallish hotel room (especially with the rollaway bed), but was in good condition - and had a nice view of the river and Georgetown.

The pool area was nice and the kids had a great time.

But the two highlights were location and service.

The location is very convenient - about a 5-10 minute walk (depending on your speed) to the Rosslyn subway station or across the Key Bridge to Georgetown. The subway is a short trip to everything you'd want to do in & around the National Mall, and M Street in Georgetown is great for shopping and restaurants. There's also restaurants and grocery stores pretty close by the hotel on the Virginia side of the river.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks especially to Ashley K for being responsive to our needs!

Room Tip: Ask for a Georgetown or DC view. Never hurts to ask!

We have just spent a week at the Ket Bridge Marriott, and it was great. We arrived a little earlier than might have been expected, but were greeted enthusiastically by Reception staff, offered a choice of twin or king-sized bed, and quickly settled in a good-sized room on the 9th floor. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all we might need - in fact, more than we would need as ironing is something I do not do on holiday!. We decided to go for a walk to keep going after the flight, and, without even asking we were pointed in the direction of Georgetown -, which was just about 10 minutes away and just what we needed. The whole of our stay lived up to this good start. We visited Georgetown a couple of times (it is on one of the Big Bus routes, so was great at the end of two days of using this hop-on-hop-off tourist bus - excellent value), and the Metro Station is just a five minute walk up the road in the opposite direction - so very convenient. Trains are frequent, easy to use, and inexpensive. Senior tickets are great value, but do remember to have ID with you. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning, and it set us up for the day ( the only minor complaint being the cold plates for hot food - a peculiarly British gripe, I understand?), and ate in the hotel on a couple of evenings when too tired to do otherwise - and both the food and service were fine. It was, all-in-all, a good stay and good value for money.

Room Tip: A higher room facing the right direction gives a nice view or the river.
