“Key Bridge Marriott, an unexpected pleasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

I usually stay in boutique hotels, so when the wedding invitation said "Accommodations: Key Bridge Marriott", I had some doubts. For the sake of convenience I decided to just 'go with the flow' and hope for the best. My fear began to melt away, however, at check-in: all of my room preferences had been noted. The room itself was spotlessly clean. OK, it wasn't furnished with antiques, but the overall impression was very good. The view was gorgeous, and, considering the location near the highway, the room was quiet. (My room was on the 8th floor).

Now, on to the wedding. As other reviewers have noted, the top floor of the hotel provides a wrap-around view of the Washington skyline. The dinner following the wedding ceremony was superb. I don't know how the kitchen managed to crank out 150 meals at the perfect temperature. Someone was always there to fill your water glass and top off your wine. As a side note, I know the hosts of the wedding were impressed with the hotel regarding meal selection, table settings and so forth.

I was particularly impressed with the staff; everyone was friendly and helpful. Marriott must have put a lot of effort into their training. I didn't venture out while there, so see other reviews for comments on location, convenience, sight-seeing, parking, etc.

Please be advised that this glowing review represents only one night in the hotel. Due to the size of the hotel, its location and reasonable price, longer stays could expose you problems I was lucky enough not to encounter.

We were staying here because my husband was attending a conference a few blocks away. We came a few days early & got a good weekend rate (compared to other hotels in the area). Overall we were pleased with the hotel. The room was a decent size. The bed was very comfortable. The air-conditioning in the room was very strong. There was lots of lighting (which isn't always the case in many hotels), lots of plugs & lots of drawers. There was a very comfortable chair near the windows. There was a coffee machine which could also make hot water for tea. There is a gift shop in the lobby that sells Starbucks coffee, sweet rolls & packaged ice cream treats as well as souvenirs & travel essentials. We were given a nice view of the Key Bridge & the Washington Monument in the distance. The staff has been well-trained to always greet guests & to be very helpful. The only negatives is with the good view came very loud traffic noise from the streets below. Also noise through the walls from adjoining rooms. I had to use earplugs to sleep. The wifi, which is an additional $12.95 a night is very weak but when we complained the charge was removed. Another drawback was there was no safe in the room. However, you could not beat the location. It was only a few short blocks to the metro station and to lots of restaurants in Rosslyn such as Baja Fresh, Ruby Tuesdays, McDonalds, Subway, small coffee shops, etc. The hotel is also right next to the Key Bridge so it is a nice walk across the bridge to Georgetown where there are lots of upscale shops and restaurants and a nice harbor where you can purchase boat tours down the Potomac. So overall, our stay at this hotel was very pleasant.

The Key Bridge Marriott is an old school hotel with a great location. It's just over the Key Bridge and right on the GW Parkway. This makes it easy to get anywhere (& back) by car. The Metro stop (Rosslyn) is a few blocks away and Georgetown is a short walk (over the bridge). Yes, you pay for parking but the self-park lot out front makes it easy to get in & out. Our room looked over T. Roosevelt Park to the Memorials (which made DC look green). The 14th floor is used for events but has a great view (it stays open). The other thing this property has working for it are its people. Somehow this Marriott has a better team than most other Marriotts. They have an old hotel to work with but they are more helpful & Friendly than other places. I don't think happens by accident, Brian H. somehow puts the right people in your path to help make DC easy. Of course when the Price is Right (& it is) everything else seems better-

Room Tip: The DC views are better than the River (Georgetown) views.

The hotel is huge! We booked 2 rooms for a wedding and arrived after midnight on Friday! The rooms were generic, clean, and standard. They lacked a fan in the steamy bathroom and the a/c was not under our control though there were digital room thermostats. Great location though! Next time I won't forget my swimsuit!

This stay was with a large student group. The hotel handled the group well. Rooms were comfortable, clean and up to date, although the building is not new. The hotel is a short walk to the Metro stop and a moderate walk to Georgetown, so a great location without the monster prices of hotels closer in. I will stay here again.

This Key Bridge Marriott is very close to Key Bridge and also not too far away from Rosslyn Metro Station so that you can be anywhere in DC area in no time by using their well-designed Metro System.
Check in was nice and smooth. Ms. G.E. gave us a very nice high floor room with a wonderful view overlooking the beautiful Potomac River, Georg town, and DC(Washington monument, Jefferson memorial & Lincoln memorial, etc----) . We so enjoyed took a stroll down the beautiful Key Bridge and to walk around the busy Georgetown.
The room was nice and comfortable. It seemed to be a very typical Marriott décor and some updated features such as a large flat panel TV. Nice heated indoor heated swinging pool and spa with someone on duty but we did not get a chance to use it this time-maybe next time.
We like this Marriott very much and would like to recommend it to be a great base touring DC area.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms facing Washington Monument have better view.

Ok, so my boyfriend and I love DC and the places to stay in downtown or georgetown are a bit out of our budget. Since my bf is an elite for marriot we got a very good rate for a room with a view. The day we arrived we asked for an upgrade since the room we got was "handicapped" and my bf did not like it too much so we decided since it was one night, why not stay in the suite. Luckily they had one available! they were so nice they did not charge us any extra! and we had a marvelous view :) It is right next to Georgetown, just crossing the bridge and there you are! The rooms are not the newest ones but the service we received was great. Great for the price and location :)

Room Tip: If you are an elite member and you are only staying for one night, ask to get upgraded! and if one i...
