“Above and beyond....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2012

We had a last minutes change to Channel 70 Productions shooting schedule and location and I had to get copies made, phone calls made, and, emails sent. The business center got me someone to assist in short order. My room had a terrific view toward DC. Room service was acceptable. Be warned, traffic in the area is horrific.

Room Tip: Request a view toward the east or northeast

I stayed for several days while I attended a conference at the hotel. Overall, it was a good experience. The staff were very attentive and accommodating (including changing my booking details at the last minute)

The room was nice and the bed was pretty heavenly (plenty of pillows and comfortable bedding, making it hard to get up for my morning meetings.) There was a big flat screen TV. Some of the rooms have an amazing view of DC, so try to get one of those if possible. I had a view of the parking lot, but still there was a balcony.
The conference room upstairs has stunning views. Even if you aren't using it, take a trip to the top floor to check it out.

The food we were served was consistently good. There's a Starbucks in the hotel for guests to grab a quick breakfast. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant so I can't comment on that. There's a nice, quiet bar on the first floor and plenty of comfortable seating.

The gym is small but has everything you need for a decent workout. It opens early, which is a plus (I was in the pool by 6am!)

The location is good, though there's not much right near the hotel. This was off-putting at first but it's only a 10min walk to the metro to DC and Georgetown is a reasonable walk away.

The only downsides were the lack of internet and the temperature of the hotel. You have to pay extra for internet in the room and I expected free WIFI from this type of hotel. Conference participants were given a free code but it only worked in the conference rooms upstairs. There's free WIFI in the lobby.
I stayed in August but it was FREEZING in the hotel, especially upstairs. Seriously, some of the conference participants were wrapped in blankets.

Overall, a good hotel in a good location! I would probably stay here again, though if traveling on my own dime I might try to find something cheaper.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the city!

The Key Bridge Marriott was one of the first hotels in the Marriott chain. It does show its age but it does have some wonderful features. Would give a three and half star rating if they had it. Its location is at the interserction of many key roads in the DC area, it is within walking distance of Georgetown and with the DC Metro. Its north and east side rooms have great views of Georgetown and Washington especially on floors five and higher, corner rooms get both views.
It has a cramped but well stock workout area and one of the best pools found in any hotel.
The staff are of the usual high quality found at Marriott properties with typical food service and amenities. Their beds are softer than I like nad they have the duvet which is os heavy that you need to keep the room very cool.

Room Tip: Ask for a DC view on floors six or higher.

We have just returned from our semi-annual visit to Washington, DC. We stayed for the second time at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, Va. This hotel is perfect for getting in and out of DC to see all the sights. There is a convenient Metro station, but we take our car––no problem. The hotel is on the Va side of the Potomac and overlooks Georgtown, beautiful views if you book on the DC side. We received very gracious responses to any inquiries that we made to the front desk, Michael was on duty. We arrived tired, and were not eager to go out our first night, so we took advantage of the in-house restaurant/bar area "Connexion". Again, we received prompt service, and the kitchen accommodated our special dinner choices. We have visited this hotel in the month of August, and have enjoyed very much the indoor/outdoor pool. We rate this hotel very highly and intend to make Key Bridge Marriott our "home away from home" when in Washington.

Room Tip: High floor, overlooking Washington.

Can't beat the location - just across the Key Bridge from Georgetown, and easily walkable to metro to get to the airport, etc. But the only internet access is a hardwire cable - for someone who travels with an iPad for business, this was unacceptable. When we called the front desk, we were told they planned to upgrade to wireless everywhere in 2012....so we will stay somewhere else in the meantime.

Our room was nicely appointed otherwise but had a crappy view of an air conditioning unit.

Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Room Tip: Not really sure, as a platinum elite Marriott member, we would have expected a bit better room.

When an old Italian friend and his family came to visit me in Washington and asked for help finding accommodations, I barely hesitated and suggested the Key Bridge Marriott. It's a decent hotel, room wise, and knew they would enjoy the superb view of the Potomac River and the nation's capital from the roof top. I have very good memories of the time when the Key Bridge Marriott had a sumptuous buffet on the top floor where they offered the best soups du jour, appetizers, and a salad bar that included giant shrimp and smoked salmon. They also had a display of fresh sushi and rich desserts. Unfortunately, the buffet no longer exists and, when my friend felt hungry, the duty manager suggested the revival restaurant on the lobby level. Honestly, they did have a good meal. I looked at the nicely garnished plates with an array of items like chipotle shrimp quesadilla with guacamole, charred crusted rib eye, and braised short ribs with pappardelle pasta. Everyone was pleased with their selections. They liked the hotel so much that they reserved three rooms for the next cherry blossom season and festival in the Spring of 2012.

The hotel is located next to the Key Bridge, a short walk from the restaurants and bars of DC along the river. The hotel is a $55 (US) taxi ride from Dulles Airport but there is a $7 city bus service available. The metro station is a short walk from the hotel when means you are close to the sights of Washington and connected to the football stadium.

Check-in was reasonable. The room was spacious and good value for the money. The rooms are a bit worn but not too badly. The bathroom was clean. The bed was to soft but it had a good selection of pillows. There is a large flatscreen in the room with good cable access. Some rooms have a very nice view of the Potomac River. The hotel was quiet and the staff courteous and friendly.

The hotel bar has a good selection of draft but service was terrible one night and terrific the next. Service at the breakfast restaurant was slow and inefficient.

Overall my stay was pleasant and I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: There are rooms available with a terrific view of the Potomac River.
