“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012

Very nice modern hotel. We had a nicely appointed suite on the 14th floor - with a large bedroom, balcony, and living room. Bed was very comfortable. Top floor (18th) restaurant has a great view of DC and Reagan National Airport and excellent food. The only complaint I had was our room didn't have much of a view.... the buildings are close together in Crystal City. Close to Pentagon Mall, Reagan National Airport, free shuttle to Metro. Even with close proximity to airport, we never heard a plane unless we were on he balcony. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Get a Suite !

As I am writing, I am in mr very well appointed 12th floor room in this Hyatt. Wonderful bed, a full sofa, recently upgraded furnishings and more. And this is just the standard room. The bathroom has been upgraded to a large glassed in shower that seems to be all the rge nowadays - not really my preference but it works well

Wireless, in room coffee, working climate control, flat screen -- what more would a professional traveler need?

Oh yes, lunch in their second floor Cinnabar restaurant was excellent in terms of choices, price and particularly and most importantly - quality!

Airport shuttle, quick efficient checking, friendly staff. Again it p,eased on all counts

Finally, not must be said that the location -- close to Reagan Airport and the Crystal City underground shops -- is eminently useable

I will enjoy coming back next month

Either the rooms at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City have had an upgrade or I was just much luckier this visit with my room allocation. I stayed at this hotel exactly 12 months ago and while it was good then it was nothing to write a report about. The room I had in my latest visit though was considerably better, more modern, better bathroom and with much more space. I had a room towards the end of the 16th Floor where it was very peaceful and with a pretty good view as well. The only criticism is that when staying for a week a room with refrigerator would be good, although not many hotels in the US give you this anyway.
The staff were extremely helpful especially at reception when they continually helped me out with requests in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep and wanted to get a few things done. The valet car parking was also reasonably priced for the US.

Room Tip: Go high and ask for an end room

I've stayed here twice for business trips, and it's one of my favorites. They've thought of all the little things that make life easier for the business traveler: it's easy to connect to WiFi, if you need tech assistance it's quick and seamless, there are plenty of electrical outlets both at the desk and by the bed for all your chargers, the desk is efficiently arranged, the beds are comfortable with clean, crisp linens. The staff was helpful, room service was quick and food delicious. There are lots of new cute restaurants and shops in the area. Shuttles go to and from the airport evey 20 minutes so no cab is necessary. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to DC, whether on business or not. And an added bonus - it's much, much more affordable than staying in DC.

Stayed on the 18th floor of an 18-story building. Went for their New Year's Eve celebration. Room was nice, spacious... enjoyed the walk-in shower. Decorated nicely. Bed very comfortable - plenty of pillows. Great water-pressure in the shower. Blow dryer was an actual separate machine - the real deal - not a vacuum hose attached to the wall.

Negative... Forget about watching t.v.! They wanted you to pay for everything! I couldn't find regular programming, so I just switched on the radio by the bedside. For one movie, they wanted $17.99!!

Positive - They did leave two very large waters, complimentary, which was nice. The obligatory coffee machine was also good - the tea was delish.

My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend. It was very convenient and comfortable for a trip to Washington, D.C. The only drawbacks: Crystal City is a lifeless environment, if you care about what's right outside; and the shower floor looked a little grungy. Even so, it rates four stars from me.
