“Yet another great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2010

This was our fourth visit to ES over 4th of July weekend. It hasn't disappointed us yet! Our teens have their own room while my husband and I enjoy a very comfortable king bed. Very close to metro stations and shopping. Room service and housekeeping were very quick. Breakfast was the best!! The only con I have is that breakfast needs more seating for groups of five or more. We didn't get to sit together every morning.

I had a pleasant stay at the Embassy Suites, Crystal City;
picked up from the airport in a timely manner. The hotel offers free
shuttle to and from the airport. There is also free transportation
to Pentagon City Shopping Mall. From Pentagon City you can take the blue line metro into the Mall, where the museums are located. (DC has great public transportation). Hotel staff was friendly, check in went smooth, in fact all the hotel staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bathroom nice with handy amenities. Business Center is located around the corner from the check-in area. Computer usage is free to guest, you need your room key to get in business center. Embassy Suites has a free breakfast and Happy Hour each day and night.
the hotel resturant is average.
The only downside for me is that hotel is not near located near restaurants or convenient stores.but it maybe I did not get a chance to explore .
I would stay here again.

This hotel was perfect for a sight-seeing trip to Washington D.C. We were a rather large group but comfortable fit five adults and two babies in portable cribs (provided by the hotel) and there was still room for seating and luggage.

The breakfast was wonderful, with almost anything you might want from omelets to oatmeal and the eating area had plenty of tables. The afternoon reception was a nice touch after a day of sight seeing it was nice to get snacks and cold drinks.

The rooms were clean and the fridge and microwave were very convenient to have, but unlike some suites we've stayed at, this was a relatively tiny kitchenette, but served our purposes. The beds are just full-size, a little smaller than we prefer, but very comfortable.

The only minor negatives were that we would have liked to have been a little bit closer to a metro station. There are the Pentagon City and Crystal City stations within two blocks but after a long day of walking around the City, those two blocks feel long and the shuttle service wasn't always reliable, but I was glad they offered it. Also, the parking charge was around $20/day.

Overall, we had a great experience.

The location is great. The hotel is about a block and a half from the Marriott where you can go through the lobby to get to the Crystal City station. Thanks to an earlier review for the tip and the directions. Turn left in front of the hotel and continue about a block and a half to the Marriott.

The Embassy Suites was a typical layout. Parking facilities were good. We never moved the car. A $10 Metro card got us to everything we wanted to go to over 3 days. We used the shuttle to Pentagon City Mall once and it was a quick trip.

Room was typical. Housekeeping wasn't the best. Breakfast and evening reception were probably better than other Embassy Suites though. Pool had a lifeguard and was adequately sized. I did hear a lot of street noise through the bedroom window.

I would stay here again. It was easy to get to, and DC was very easy to navigate from here.

After a long day of sightseeing, it's great to come back to lodging that feels more like a small apartment than hotel room. Add a generous full breakfast and late afternoon happy hour and Embassy Suites creates a friendly, relaxed atmosphere within it's lovely atrium. For walkers, the nearby access to the Metro and airport shuttle service make all of tourist DC doable without the hassle of a car.

Having stayed at Embassy Suites all over this country, several times over, I found my stay here extremely disappointing!

First the pros-the location is A+. There is a free shuttle that runs every 30 minutes and takes you straight to shopping/metro/eateries. Also, every morning this ES offers omlettes. Most ES only offers omlettes on the weekend.

The cons-hotel staff is dishonest, rooms are dirty, complaints get you no where...even when you take it to the top. There are hidden charges everywhere...be careful with the internet here. It isn't free, even for HH members. It is $11.95 every 24 hours. The pool is always crowded and they rotate your kids in and out every 20 minutes.

The thing that made our stay rough was the lack of action when we complained about the uncleaness of our rooms. They were dirty when we arrived and they stayed dirty during our stay. Unacceptable for an ES. Period.

The hotel is also very outdated. Every room seemed to have something broken, old, and unworking. You have many other options when going to DC....save your $$$ and try someother place.

Stayed here for Spring Break on a AAA rate of $115 and had two rooms for 10 of us. We all fit no problem. Convenient to metro (7-8 minute walk), 1 stop away was Pentagon City mall with good shopping and food court. Crystal City food choices just OK, hotel restaurant we ate at for Breakfast only (there was TONS on the buffet, plus omelets cooked to order and make your own waffles (slow). Pool was being painted but they painted during daytime only and were able to open for spring break crowd in AM and afternoon and evening. Too small of a pool for all the kids that were there (but the lifeguard kept keeping people out to not overcrowd the pool). System to keep pool crowds in check leaves a lot to be desired, but that is partly due to lifeguard on door duty was ESL English as second Language and told different things to different people. We learned you just hang out and wait even though she told people to come back in 30 minutes. People who left got bypassed and if you were waiting by the door when someone left, you bumped off the list the people she told to wait and who left to wait where she told them. BIZARRE. But the kids had fun. Didnt do fitness center or room service, but we used this as a VERY convenient headquarters to play tourist. Buy a day pass for Metro for $8 and ride all you need to after 930 am. We did the zoo, Smithsonians, Holocaust, White House, Post Office, Capitol, Union Station, etc. Front desk staff really hustled for us. Staff at restaurant seeing my large crowd of kids had big smiles, no problem with kids wanting to get managers drinks/snacks while in swim suits and bring them into the pool area.
Pull out sofa, plenty of seating, very comfortable bed. in room microwave, frig, coffee maker, all the usual stuff.
