This is a great location for easy access to DC. Make sure you book with parking included, otherwise they tack on $18 which I was not aware of the first time I stayed there in January. The metro is a few minutes away. The nightly manager special includes free drinks - that's right, free drinks! The restaurant is adequate if you want to eat there. The breakfast buffet is nice as well with made to order omelets; better than the usual continental fare. The suite was very comfortable and clean, however wifi is not included in the price.

Very nice hotel. Excellent cooked to order breakfast. Nice manager's reception every evening. About a 4 block walk to the Crystal City metro station. 10 min. drive to Arlington National Cemetery.
I should note that I spoke to reception one evening because I saw I had been left 2 decafs for the in-room coffeemaker. They were at my door in about 10 min. with 3 packages of regular.
As other TA'ers have noted, this property is very popular with families on the weekends, and the pool is wall to wall kids. The pool clears out almost completely on Sunday night.

If you are visiting DC with a family - not a bad choice. Room was clean, hotel staff helpful, affrodable.

Location (via car or subway) was a plus as well.

Negatives - Pool was not clean and security staff could not handle kids in hallways after 10pm.

Positives - Free breakfast and snacks very good. High security parking was a plus.

I frequently travel to the area and decided to try this property.
I arrived fairly late in the evening, check-in was smooth, no issues. Checked into my room, typical two bedroom suite. Decor was a little outdated, but room was very clean.
My Diamond VIP welcome gift was already in the room.

I ate dinner at the restaurant. Food was reaonably priced and surprisingly very good. Wait staff were very pleasant. I have no complaints about any of the wait/bar staff. All were extrememly friendly.
Gym was a little small, but had a variety of equipment and weights. Gym overlooks the indoor pool. Cario equipment has TV's which is always a nice distraction.

Complimentary breakfast and evening reception were very good. No complaints.

Unfortunatally, one of the hotle shuttle drivers was very hostile to me not once, but two times. On one occassion, it was very upsetting. I immediatally reported both incidents to the front desk. I was brushed off, offered no apology what so ever. I'm not one to throw my Hilton status around, because it shouldn't matter, but even bringing this to their attention made no impact what so ever. I spoke to the evening manager, before I even got to tell her what happened on the second occasion with the driver, she stated that she already spoke to another guest in the shuttle who stays with them all the time. Her tone was very harsh and made me feel that she wasn't interested in hearing my version of the story.
I am loyal to Hilton, but I will not stay at this property again becuase the poor customer service of management.

If your looking for a good value, close to National Airport, this is not a bad property. It's not very close to a Metro, it's a fairly long walk, or you can have the hotel shuttle take you to Pentagon City Metro.

Average Stay for Embassy Suites.

I stayed with my husband and 2 year old son to Embassy Suites Crystal City from March 28th thru the 30th. We were very impressed with this hotel. The 2 room suite was a good size, with a separate living room and bedroom, in between was a small kitchenette area with microwave, fridge and sink. There was also a table with 4 chairs in the living room area.
We found the room to be in good condition, everything was clean and neat when we arrived. The price we paid for our stay was $110/per night +$19 per night to park and taxes. We thought that was a great deal for the Washington area. The hotel is less than 5 miles from all the museums and attractions. We opted to drive into Washington, so we can't comment on the shuttle service, and parked at the national mall in front of the museums. There is plenty of free parking if you arrive early, around 9:30 am, before they open.
The complimentary breakfast at the hotel was above average. There was a buffet selection of hot foods; pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon and hash browns, as well as a made to order omelet bar, and a selection of continental breakfast type food; cereal, yogurt, bagels, donuts, fruit, pastries, etc. We ate there both mornings during our stay. The food wasn't spectacular, but it was very convienent to have breakfast cooked right downstairs from our room, traveling with a toddler.
There is also a complimentary manager's reception each night in the restaurant area from 5:30 to 7:30. We didn't get to stay long (not amusing for our son, he wanted to run around) but I did manage a couple margaritas each night and some snacks. The first night there was a selection of cheeses, and the second was veggies and dip, each night also offered chips, pretzels, and popcorn, and sodas and juices. I think we would of enjoyed it more if we were traveling without a kid, but I liked the idea anyway for after a long day of sightseeing and walking.
The pool at the hotel we only went in once. Our son loved it (water baby!) but it was pretty small and became crowded very quick. We only ended up staying there 20 minutes or so, and when we left there was a sign on the door that the pool was at full capacity.
Overall, we had a great experience with the Embassy Suites hotel. The price for the room was the best we have gotten so far in that area. It was our first time staying with this brand, and we will definately look for them in the future.
