We stayed here for a weekend mini-vacation to Washington DC over Spring Break. The hotel's location is great. Arlington is only two Metro stops away and it's not too far to anywhere you want to go in D.C. You can walk to the Metro. There are several ways to get there. We found that walking through the Marriot Hotel and through the underground mall was the easiest.
Crystal City is very nice. This is a business area with some residential condos and apartments. You can walk to a mall, shops, & restaurants from the hotel. Try McCormicks & Schmick's if you like seafood or Ted's Montana Grill for steak and burgers.
Our room was clean and on the 10th level. The hotel was booked solid but it wasn't too noisy on our level. There were lots of children's groups but they didn't seem to be staying on the 10th or 11th level so that was helpful. Our room backed up to the highway so it was loud at night. We did have limited views of the Potomac River from our window so that was nice.
The pool is very small and you could smell the chlorine from outside of the doors. My son wanted to swim on Friday night but they weren't letting in any more people since it was too crowded. I guess that is to be expected on a busy weekend.
The breakfast selection was okay. Although it is fairly standard at most Embassy Suites, some places over variations. I enjoyed the scones they had in the pastry section here. The bacon was way too greasy to interest me. They left it in large greasy strips instead of smaller pieces for the made-to-order omelets.
I would return here since the rooms were clean and the location was nice.
