The staff was wonderful and the room was great even though I didn't get a room with a view. The rooms have been update. I would stay there again; near the mall, Costco, many restaurants and the Metro so you don't have to pay for a taxi. Oh, I forgot Free shuttle service to an from airport, to mall and metro. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Great hotel but on my last visit the internet did not work properly, and the parking gate did not accept my room key for exit or entry. Parking could be cheaper especially for HH members. Give us a choice of internet, discount on meal or free parking rather than discount on meal or one night internet.

There was a natural gas leak that filled the hotel with the smell of natural gas. Horrible odor! Had difficultly sleeping as smell lingered overnight. Will never stay here again. The hotel provided $0.00 compensation for this episode...no breakfast coupons...no room discount for that night's stay.

Room was clean and spacious with a great view. Bad part was the view was obstructed by mildew in the windows that couldn't be removed. Staff and security were professional and courteous. Jacuzzi tub was dated, slow draining(almost clogged), and squeeled loudly. Atmosphere of the hotel was top notch. In some ways dissapointed and others very pleased. Nice hotel overall.

Upon arrival Doubletree Cryatal City, VA the first line is Valet and then of course the second is Front desk/Reception. I must report that the first line, Valet, Sampson H., was welcoming and friendly and very helpful concerning parking. But wait there is more. The second line, Ms Toni at the front desk was equally as welcoming, friendly and helpful. Ms Toni even went so far as to give us an unexpected upgrade which included a room with an excellent view of Washington, D.C. I would definitely stay here again and I'm already telling my friends about the great experience I had. Thanks again, Sampson and Toni! Blessings!

Room Tip: North Pavillion rooms face pentagon and D.C. nice view if you like that sort of thing

This hotel has some issues. No heat in my room (necessitating move), ratty carpets in both rooms, malfunctioning coffee maker, burned out light not replaced on request, spotty motivation by staff to fix things. For the price (even in DC), one expects more. At least there were no vermin. Oh, and the remodeled lobby looks nice (although you have to parade through it in sweaty gym clothes if you want to work out).

Thank you for choosing to post a review. I am so sorry that you had a disappointing stay. While challenges do pop up from time to time, it is rare for so many to happen to one guest. It is understandable why you left unsatisfied and I am truly sorry this occurred.

I do see that you were offered and accepted two complimentary breakfast vouchers as compensation for having to change rooms. While the heat could not be fixed in your original room, the agent did want to apologize for the inconvenience which is why the breakfast was offered to you.

The carpets are set to be replaced as part of our upcoming room remodel project. However, we should have replaced the light bulb prior to you going into the room and certainly after you let us know about it. The Director of Property Operations is looking into why this did not occur.

This DoubleTree underwent a renovation a few years back and the modern 1-bedroom suite is very comfortable, with separate desk space and quieter than north tower rooms. It is a popular location so you may have to contend with large groups but HHonors check-in helps, as does the Wi-Fi and breakfast for gold/diamond. I first chose this location for the convenience, but come back for the breakfast buffet. Axi and Haji are always friendly, prompt and do a fabulous job getting your day started right. The fresh fruits, yogurts and oatmeal are what I come for but the wart buffet seems to be a great hit as well. The gym is small but has all you need while traveling, and the bar area on the main level is a great place to meet up with friends or grab something light to eat.

Thank you for posting a review. The feedback on our recently remodeled suites and rooms has been so positive. We are very excited to soon complete the rooms in the South Tower as well as all of them in the North Tower so all of our guests can experience the fresh, new looking product. I am so glad you enjoyed your experience with us.

Axi and Haji are two of our superstars and it is so nice to read that their top notch service keeps you coming back. I am surprised you find our gym to be small since it is the largest fitness room of any hotel in the area, but I am glad you find the equipment to be what you need in order to have a good workout. The Lobby Bar is quite popular and you are correct that due to the ample comfortable seating many guests do use this area to meet up with one another.
