I stayed here over Inauguration weekend and found it a convenient and comfortable place during a very busy time in the District. The Metro is just a 2 block walk north on Eads (the street behind the hotel), which made getting into the District easy. The cabs around Arlington do not know how to get around the District, so make sure you have an idea of where things are located before you take one. Legal Seafood and Chili's are just down the block on Jeffereson Davis Parkway. The hotel shuttle works great from the airport, but don't count on prompt service from the Metro at night, as I waited 40 minutes alone before I got picked up. (I didn't know how close I was to the hotel or in which direction I needed to walk, so I waited.) The restaurant in the hotel was wonderful! The staff was nice and the rooms were clean. I'd stay again.

As I understand it, it recently converted from another chain to Radisson. That was good for me as Radisson had a triple points promotion (full disclosure).

Their strategy: unbundle. So, there is no free breakfast and parking is $20 a night (expect to pay for parking everywhere in D.C.). On the other hand the room was significantly less that the others on Jeff Davis Hwy. This room was clean, reasonable size, fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, make-up mirror, drier, iron and board. King was comfortable. Weird thing was that the bathroom had no vent; that stank!
Hotel has an outdoor pool and small workout room.
They're painting everywhere.
There's free wifi in the lobby and the signal is very good (there may be wifi in the rooms, but I used my air card. Staff was friendly. The restaurant has a $14 breakfast buffet. The lunch and dinner menu is limited, but very good quality and priced right (try the sweet potato fries!). I don't drink, but noticed there is a happy hour. Don't want to eat at the hotel? Numerous restaurants within walking distance.
The number 1 reason to stay here is location. It's a 10 minute drive to the Smithsonian Museum (and all the other D.C. attractions). It's a short walk to the metro- one stop to the Smithsonian station.
Did I mention that I paid $107 for this room instead of $170 next door (for free breakfast, indoor pool and $15 parking per night).

This Radisson has seen better days, but I hand it to the management for hiring such efficient staff. The desk clerks are helpful and quick; the rooms and carpets in the hall are cleaned nicely; the free airport shuttle is prompt and friendly. It's not the most exciting for decoration--all beiges and hotel art--but, then, it is a hotel. The walls are a bit thin, so it's pretty easy to hear the neighbors (bring ear plugs if you want some quiet for sleeping). My king sized bed was comfortable, though, fluffed with extra pillows, and the room was huge! And the hotel is two blocks from the Crystal City Metro, making for a quick trip to the sites in downtown DC. There's not much in this area itself, though, so you really have to hop on the Metro to find something of interest to see and do and to locate restaurants that aren't the usual mall chains. For the reasonable price that you pay for a room, it's a good value.

We had an overnight layover in DC going from Chicago to Miami. We booked our room through Hotels.com for about $80 bucks, got picked up in the airport by the hotel shuttle quickly. Arrived to the hotel around 10:30pm, and had to leave at 4:30am for our flight the next day. The man working the front desk said their shuttles didn't start running until 5:30am. (The person who booked us the room on hotels.com told us the shuttles would run starting at 4:30 and that he had actually reserved a shuttle time for us through the hotel which was frustrating). The man at Radisson front desk was super nice and accommodating, and specially arranged a shuttle for us. The room was nice and spacious, super clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable with those big fluffy white comforters. We didn't have time to explore the area, or even see it in the daytime, but the hotel is nice, comfortable and perfect for a stopover.
