“Cool phone app for tv remote”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012 via mobile

This hotel has a cool application to use your cell phone as a remote control. I like this hotel. near Reagan airport. Also near metro station. No rental car needed if you will be touring DC. It does have a lot of other hotels in the area and a couple of places to eat not to far away.

Our experience at this hotel was mixed. On the negative side. Upon arrival we found no soap in our room-call to the Front Desk brought us soap. For breakfast on the day after our arrival we posted the required list of desired items on our door well before the pickup time in the evening; in the morning we found the list had not been picked up;fortunately we had brought items we could use for breakfast; we visited the Front Desk and were assured our order would be submitted and we would have not problem on the following day; BUT again no breakfast arrived; a call to the Front Desk brought us breakfast within 15 minutes. Arrived back at our room in late afternoon to find all hand towels and wash cloths except one of each had been removed and not replaced; also, one of the phones in the room was missing; a call to the Front Desk brought towels and wash cloths; we also reported the missing phone to ensure we would not be held responsible for its disappearance. On the positive side. Front Desk personnel were always polite and helpful, suggesting that room service and maid service problems lie elsewhere in the hotel organization. A Metro station is about two blocks away, and is an easy 10 minute walk. On the day of our arrival the weather was rainy and we were tired so we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, The Bistro; hotel restaurant food is usually satisfactory at best, but we were very pleased with our meals and they greatly exceeded our expectations; although the menu is more limited than a full-service restaurant, our meals were tasty and generous in size; I had barbequed chicken which had a very pleasant flavor-my wife had a shrimp pasta dish which did not scrimp on the shrimp. In response to our complaints about the Room Service, the Front Desk gave us coupons for the full breakfast buffet, which saved us the normal price of $14 each. The room was of good size and nicely furnished-beds were comfortable. In summary, some good but some not some good. Maybe your experience would be better than ours. I doubt if we will return to this hotel. A tip to save money-weekend rates are considerably lower than week time rates-I suspect this is true of all the hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Maybe choose a different hotel, as others are abundant in Crystal City.

The rooms are nice and a good location. Pretty close to the Airport and the Rail. They offer shuttle service from and to the airport. The only problem we had was because I asked the front desk if they could take us to the train station on the following day in the morning and the FD said yes. on the following day when i went to ask them if they could take us to the station the guy said no, because they were busy taking guests to the airport. I was very disappointed. Wouldn't mind if the FD explained to me how the shuttle service works.

The hotel is about 15 minutes away from the mall area of DC, without traffic. Our hotel room was small, but for the price and a overnight stay was fine. The restroom was really small, where only one person could be in there at a time. I booked a room with a sleep number bed, but did not get a sleep number bed and since we checked in so late, I was too tired to call downstairs and complain. I had to ask the clerk about parking and then was not told about which stair well to take up to the hotel. The stair wells were very scary so we just walked to the front of the hotel to go up to our room. There were no signs in the parking garage on how to get up to the hotel.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a hotel to stay overnight and be close to all the sites downtown DC, this wou...

Hotel location very good if short stay close to airport are your needs in DC.

I should have questioned a problem after the 1st hotel shuttle went by after screaming and chasing but when the second went by a real issue. When I commented at desk at checkin the attitude was so...!

Room was fine but it was like there were no windows. I felt like I was trying to sleep in the middle of a freeway. Bar none the worst night in a hotel in 30+ yes bar none! Wild horses couldn't drag me back. Sleep is far too precious to give up!!

We were fortunate to find the Radisson at a very reasonable rate (roughly $81.00 per night) - be advised though, the next week the rates were well over $100 per night. This is an older hotel and the age is showing. However, the excellence of housekeeping, the restaurant personnel and the front desk staff made up for any age related building problems. We stayed there 6 nights and loved every day. The hotel was quiet and had a restaurant on the premises (no complimentary breakfast). The restaurant has a good food and a fantastic staff, expecially Dewan. The room was large and had sleep number beds - we have one at home and it was like sleeping in our own bed. There was also an easy chair in the room. There was a microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker and lots of amenities that we didn't use such as laundry service and room service. There are 60+ TV channels. No luggage rack, but a large bench that held 2 suitcases and there was a large work table. The hotel is close to the Metro rail station that goes into DC. Big kudos to the housekeeping staff - everything was clean (even the corners in the bathroom). One of the few hotels that Old Town Trolley stops at to pick up their customers.

Not bad. We had 2 double rooms, which felt small, but were decent. The have air beds, and one of our beds had a slow leak, and the overall controls were a little awkward for some of the older members of our group. The staff was great. It is close to the Crystal City Metro and tons of restaurants. I could stay there again.
