“Nice hotel to stay at! Would stay there again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2011

We booked this trip through Priceline and got a good rate through them. We used the metro to get around, as the station is only a few blocks away from this hotel and is an easy walk.

The hotel itself was quiet. We only heard people as they were walking past our door. We heard nothing coming through the walls or the ceiling. That is a huge pet peeve of ours, being able to hear every step someone takes in the room above us, but none of that here. Very quiet at night!!

The only "noise problem" we had was the construction going on across the street, that usually started every moring at sun up. Nothing like getting up before your alarm!! If you can, request to stay on the other side of the hotel!

The room service was OK. They did clean our room everyday, but it was not restocked everyday with water, coffee, and sometimes even bathroom linens. But it was not enough to complain about. It was just hit or miss if they put a tub mat in the bathroom, or 1, 2, or 3 towels left for us to use.

All in all, it is a nice hotel and we would stay there again with pleasure. We never tried the restaurant in the hotel, as there were others to choose from very close by.

The only true negative we could come up with was the early morning construction! If you do stay at this Westin, for sure try Vapianos and Bug Buns! AWESOME!! Enjoy! :-)

Room Tip: Just ask at reservation and also at check in!

Dear Txcops,

We are happy to hear you would stay with us again and that you enjoyed the local restaurants! We also recommend our restaurant, Pinzimini, where our Executive Chef Graham Fontes has created an irresistible new menu focusing on fresh, farm-to-table Italian cuisine. We apologize for the miscommunication with our housekeeping services; however, we do strive to reduce our impact on the environment through our Make a Green Choice program which allows our guests to choose whether they would like new linens or would just like them refreshed during their stay. Please do not hesitate to let us know what your preferences or requests are in the future and thank you for your recommendations! Be Inspired.

I spent two nights recently on business and was able to sample the rooms, catering and conference space. The guest rooms were well maintained and up-to-date. The catering service was better than average. I attended a sponsored cocktail and hors d'oeuvres function and enjoyed the food. An all-day corporate conference was held in the Westin's second floor rooms which provided a small but comfortable environment. About a 1/2 hour by taxi from DCA and a little less to the D.C. attractions.

I have never experienced a hotel with such awesome customer service! As we were checking in to our room, I mentioned to the concierge that we were there for our anniversary. After going out to dinner when we came back to our room, we found a bottle of champagne on ice, some chocolate covered strawberries, and a card signed by the staff wishing us a happy anniversary!! My husband and I were very touched by the gesture. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made our stay unforgettable! We will definitely be back! :)

Service is surprisingly good all over at this Westin. From the entrance, to a very friendly and quick check-in, to every staff you encounter, the service is above expectation. This is a modern hotel. The lobby is very nice, although lacking sufficiant public space to hang around, have discussions or even work. The rooms are modern, clean and the bed, heavenly.

Meeting spaces and service are top class. But that's really what this hotel is all about. There is not much around (except construction). So you go there when attending a conference at this hotel.

In that case, it is a very good Westin.

This is a great newer Balston area hotel conveniently located several blocks from the Balston metro. The hotel is only about 5 years old. The rooms and club are nice, but, club service is limited on weekends as to be expected due to few business travelers. Their recent rates have become more reasonable in line with some of the competitors. The only disadvantage is the distance to the balston metro when it rains. In that case I prefer the Arlington Hilton directly above the balston metro. There is no self parking, only valet parking.

Absolutely awful hotel. I’ve been staying at Starwood hotels for 12 years and this was one of the worst check in experiences ever. Keys to the room didn’t work, so had to go back down to reception. Internet service was down for 4 hours for all guest rooms, and getting a straight answer from hotel staff as to why and eta for a fix was next to impossible. Frankly getting them to pick up the phone or not hang up after putting you on hold was impossible. Very loud construction across the street started at 6am. If you're looking for a good business hotel, this is NOT it!

Frequent visitor to Arlington as both my children live there. We planned a Mother's Day visit and bought a pre-paid 3 nite stay. Plans had to change and the hotel was totally inflexible about providing any recourse. OK, I get a penalty for one nite stay, but we forfeited almost $400 for all 3 nites. So what's so special about being a Starwood member ?? Does everyone live a life that can be perfectly planned out ?
Arlington has lots of good properties, and maybe they all adopt this attitude. Next time I'll go down the street.

Dear SuperSpy,

Unfortunately the discount offered on the prepaid rate is available only as a fully paid and non-changeable reservation as stated at booking. However, you can always call the hotel directly or our reservation team to look into other great rates we offer that are modifiable. We understand travel plans change and we strive do our best to accommodate those changes. Be Well.
