We eat in a lot of kabob restaurants. This one is an upgraded hole in the wall that we found a few years ago and hadn't been to for a while. Today's visit found the place with lovely airconditioning and a slightly better interior.

“Excellent food, no frills”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Looks like a cafeteria, but the taste is superb. Just about everything on the menu is good. Worth the wait if there is a line.

“Good for its class. Pay attention to the cabbies!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

We eat in a lot of kabob restaurants. This one is an upgraded hole in the wall that we found a few years ago and hadn't been to for a while. Today's visit found the place with lovely airconditioning and a slightly better interior. The food here has always been good. Bread is at the upper end of the range; kabobs are good; veggies are average, as is the salad. It can be a bit slow here, but that's because it's all done to order. Somewhat bigger menu than most. Best sign is the number of ethnic cab drivers who eat here. I wouldn't drive across town to eat here, but if you are nearby, stop in. And if you don't like the order-at-a-counter routine, there's a sit down restaurant run by the same people a few doors down. Remarkably, open 24 hours.

“Overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

This place is overrated. We heard, through friends, how great the food is at Kabob Palace. It was ok for me.
The best dish that we had was the chapeli kabob. The chicken kabob was ok. The lamb chops were undercooked.
Overall just ok.

“Great find, off the beaten path”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

You certainly wouldn't expect it from this non-descript, "hole-in-the-wall" hidden away behind a 7-11, around the corner from CVS, and behind the infamous "CCR" (don't ask- if you don't already know, you don't want to), but this is one of the great finds in the DC area. The food is fantastic and the portions are huge, so if you are looking for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, this is the place to go. It's open 24 hours and has a sister restaurant that's more formal, but this place is perfect for a casual lunch, dinner, or takeout. I go there for lunch at least once a week, splitting the huge portion in half, saving the other half for another lunch later in the week. The naan is some of the best I've had (even in the Middle East) and the food is always consistently good. I'm a huge fan of the kubideh, but the chicken is always great too. Try the side veggie skew- the onions come out so-so, but it's well worth the great grilled peppers and tomatoes as a side to your meat and rice dish.
