I've only eaten here once. The salsa was delicious and they were making more of it right there. My enchiladas were good, but the amount of cheese overwhelmed everything else - that sort of approach screams Americanization of food. If you get Mexican food in southern Texas or California (or Mexico for that matter) you'll always get enough cheese for flavor, but they don't allow it to overwhelm the taste of the meat (the true hero of the dish) or the tortilla (an important contribution to balancing the flavors). It's decent enough, inexpensive, and has a nice atmosphere. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine (outnumbered 200 to 1 by Peruvian chicken and Salvadorian pupusa joints in the DC area) my recommendation is Lauriol Plaza in Adams Morgan/Dupont Circle. This will do if you want tasty cheap eats.
