I've been a customer of Ray's the Steaks since they were housed further up Wilson Boulevard, and can vouch for the consistency of their steaks. Diners at Ray's the Steaks may sacrifice some of the decor typical of high-end steak houses, but their steaks compare favorably with those found at restaurants charging much more for the privilege of being an unapologetic carnivore. The cuts are large, too, which helps compensate for the so-so complementary sides, which are family-sized, and service that can be spotty. I've given Ray's a rating of four out of five because they deliver on their primary mission, beef, and you won't be disappointed if that's what you're looking for. But keep in mind that it's not the best choice for a romantic evening out.
