“The best steak for the money in DC!”

I've been to Ray's the Steaks several times over the last 6 months. The steaks are fantastic, and for a fraction of the cost of other steakhouses in DC. I've been to Charlie Palmers and The Prime Rib and the meet didn't compare and it was 2-3 times the cost. While the service at rays doesn't compare to the 5 star places, the reduced cost more than makes up for it.

Rays is a good place for small parties. They do not handle large parties very well though. I had reservations for 12 and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our table. Dinner was still good, but the wait kind of spoiled the mood.

Despite Rays shortcomings, this is still one of my favorite DC area restaurants. Truly a hidden gem!

“Institutional but good food.”

Very little atmosphere in this crowded and busy restaurant. Waiters are fast and efficient and food is tasty if somewhat generic. It's easy to get rushed through the meal.

“Great steaks - half the price of other steak houses”

Terrific meal - steak and 2 sides come with it - delicious wines by the glass or bottle - very reasonably priced. Steak with 2 glasses of wine and all sides < $50 pp.

“Good steak”

Reasonable price for a good steak. This is much more up scale than an Outback steak house. You can go casual but many people were in suites so I felt a little under dressed.

went here to celebrate a new job. Delicious. The portions are huge and the sides are great. Very reasonable for all the food you get. good serivce.
